2-E

3-I

5-U

6-Y

I have another code too, and i'm working on my own language,(yes, i know its sad) but it has different symbols so I can't type it.

Ghorgareth, you're making the same mistakes that Switch is making. Maybe I should start a class on 1337.

Okay everyone... Your homework for "1337 I: The Art of 1337" is to translate the IRC log from Daerk's post in "Uh... Yeah..." from IRC Kiddy to 13375p33|<.

I know Im not 100% 1337. But It takes to long time for me fo 1337 things up. English is not my motherlanguage, since Im from sweden. And even if Im quite good at english, It will most certainly look stoopid if I try to use some kind of 1337 language. First I need to know what to write. Then I need to translate it. Then I need to make it 1337. Was to tired to make the last step. Takes to much time. Thanks anyway.

Cheese, don't you think it's possible for a thread to change topics, and that not all OT posts are spam and should be deleted by a mod?

Okay, so then you didn't suggest anything close to that, but the point still stands. Before I came to this forum, I thought that spam was 12 posts spread across active topics that all read "Whear is teh underground manor neer Balmoar ololol!!??" It seems that the mindset here is that any post that is OT is spam, as is any thread that doesn't make sense, or, for that matter, any thread started by a particular person.

Probably won't make much difference, but at least I got my opinion across. Even if it is spam.

no, OT discussion isnt spam, its just OT, and if people didnt stop it then people would think they could go OT in anything they wanted, thus messing up people's threads all over the place. im only letting this one continue as it didnt really have a topic in the first place

My stance on SPAM is that OT does not necessarily mean SPAM.

SPAM is a combination of content and context - while it's ok for threads to evolve and wander off topic in, say, the off-topic or the Morrowind lore forums it would be inappropriate in, say, a Site Announcement forum.

SPAM are posts which don't contribute anything - ie not even a slight entertainment value - to the forums. Eg post like 'I'm bored, anybody wanna chat?'

SPAM is blatant postcount boosting like starting a '1 word sentence' game

SPAM is interrupting discussions pointlessly

SPAM is bumping long dead threads unless the bump post contains a significant & relevant update

And finally, SPAM is posting a succession of pointless one-liner or one-word comments like 'Says who?' 'Yeah?' 'Uh huh' etc... when you get a page or two of comments like that it gets more than just a bit annoying.

Everyone has their own definiton of SPAM, though - the list above just contains most of what I consider to be SPAM.

*hones Spambanes blade to a razorsharp edge*

So, while this post is off-topic, is it SPAM? :P

No. Not in my book. This topic has gone OT, but in a good way (at leasts its now in English).

SPAM is similar to junk mail, if you don't think its worth reading its SPAM.

Note: Spam is also a processed meat product available in WW2 and beloved of the Monty Python crew
