Matt100793
Although it may exist in a way for some, those of us who do not use Games For Windows Live do not get achievements. But being so awesome, we who do not have live should be able to feel proud and accomplished when we do something noteworthy! We could expand on the idea that Live uses and have way more than just 30 or 40 achievements, we could have 200 or more! w/o a 1,000 gs level cap, we could even integrate it into the game and buy special equiptment or perks or who knows with our "Gamer Score". This just seems like such a good idea. If it's already been made, then I'm sorry hahaha. also if you would please give me a link, I'd be very happy. Otherwise, get to work modders. =]
Madmansdeath
you do know that the achivments are made by microsoft and when you get them they are added to your profile right.Meaning that you can not make more live achivements.
LKchaos
This extends past people just game offline. FOSE disables GFWL as well. I don't think he means "Live" achievements, just general achievements. However, I don't see all that much to gain here. "Achievements" are rewarded for doing things in the game...most of the fallout 3 GFWL achievements are just completing quests. Some are also like killing all the supermutants. You could implement an entire new system just to replicate the effect Live has, or you could just implement a quest that tells you do the same thing the achievement is. Rabbit1251
What's so awesome about achievements? Well, that pretty much sums up my view on it. I did away with "high-scores" when I gave up Space Invaders. Now I just enjoy the game for the game's sake. Rabbit

flipskate234
I have a small trickle of a thought that perhaps he does not mean a connection to some server to track and process our scores, but merely a mod that behaves similar in a single player experience. Imagine, if you can, a world where almost all life forms have been either killed or horribly mutated from a WWIII scenario. You escape from your vault and stumble into the wastes to be greeted by an old wanderer. He's wearing a sheriff's uniform and holstering a scoped magnum revolver. He tells you to head down through Springvale, just up ahead, then bank right when you see a sign for Megaton. Before he goes he warns you of the dangers of the mutated wasteland and the murderous, cannibalistic raider mobs who roam the wastes pillaging and destroying whatever they can. He tells you any time that you kill some vile, mutated creature or a raider to head to any marked town to notify him over the radio communication system of his design. I figure that would be a good back story and a plausible reason to receive some sort of "tickets" or, "tokens." You run out and kill a low level raider, 5 tokens. Kill a super mutant, 20 points. Kill a deathclaw, 50 points. The Wandering Sherrif's (the only name you know him by) communication towers could come under attack by raiders every once in a while and you have to meet him at the besieged tower to tell defeat the raiders, get specific parts to repair the tower, then tell the Sherrif your kills. I would choose not to place a time limit to meet the Sherrif at a tower under siege because it would suck to need to leave an important quest or awesome find to defend this old sh*t. Amirite? But, the drawback will be that you cannot communicate your points to him until you meet up and fix the communication array. If I was going to have him actually roaming the desert, or maybe put in a scripted meet up where he might be surrounded by raiders and you come to his aid by flanking their rear end, you could of course tell him your kills then (regardless of whether the array is functional or not). Now suppose that you receive 100 points and the Sherrif tells you that you can get a medkit in exchange for the tickets. Maybe at 500 tickets you can choose a 9mm pistol or 5 medkits. At 1000 points you can get a set of combat armor. 2500 points buys you a personal training session with a skill specialist. 5000 points can get you a session with a S.P.E.C.I.A.L. specialist?? So like that. But I sure as hell can't do it. So one of you filthy human worm babies do it.
