Why does everyone here seem and/or say they kill Loghain every time?

I look forward to killing both Loghain and Howe. I look forward to spending my nights in camp with Alistair. Not everyone likes Alistair in the game, they seem to be the ones to allow Loghain to live to become a warden. It's all a choice of personal preference.

"Clears throat" CAUSE HE'S A *****!!!!!

And an evil one at that.

"Loghain is not evil, he is like Napoleon; once a great general but fell from grace after miscalculating his enemies."

WHAT THE!! That is... Never mind the point is that that was not a miscalculation! That was pure hunger for power, and pure contempt for a king who did not follow his every whim!

And what is this "fell from grace" He flat out turned to the dark side of the force man! He went evil on our a~.... rumps.

Point is he paid for his crime that way, he left so many mothers fathers and sons of loyal countrymen to die by a horrible fate, not just the wardens and his bloody king!

He, Was, EVIL!! And I'd bet he you asked him he would say "I'd do it all again, only I'd have made SURE you died!"

So as almost every word in a sentence i say this about him, (****) the (*******) (******) and good day

Loghain loved his country more than anything and was willing to sacrifice almost everything to in sure it's survival. He was never in the race for power and served Maric till his death. Napoleon was the same, he want what was good for France and wanted the French to feel proud of who they are. Napoleon was also a skillful general with many victories under his belt (same as Loghain) but fell after the Russian campaign (just as Loghain fell at the Battle for Ferelden) and died in pain (Napoleon died from arsenic poisoning and Loghain was beheaded).

The point of comparing Napoleon to Loghain is to show that their failure is cause by miscalculation and that they were both respected by the common people. Napoleon failed and underestimated the Russians and the Russian weather which caused his failure and his downfall. Loghain in the other hand failed to understand the servility of the situation and thought that he could defeat the darkspawn just like any other army. Besides killing Loghain isn't going to make you better than him or change the events that transpired during his reign. It is not going to bring Duncan's beard or Calian back, you are just wasting pointless life, so sell him to the Wardens I say. Sell him!

We all see this in a different manner.

We can talk about this till we are old and gray and we will never agree ^^ so i'll just stick with killing his mass murdering, power hungry, self important, narcissistic, aaa~ rump....

And you can let him life out the rest of his life as a "hero" to the people who gets away with causing horrible suffering to the nation as a whole.

(lets face it, he is old as it is, the taint won't kill him before old age does, he will life and continue to create plots to take over or destroy the wardens or the nation.

Like i said we all have a view point, mine won't change I'm as unchanging as a rock and i know it.

I'm not here to change people's opinion, only to state the facts. What you think of Loghain is your opinion not mine and if you wish to kill him then kill him by all means. I just want Loghain to suffer for his actions and that means let his dark thoughts of guilt and pity be his downfall.

You said it very well. Killing Loghain won't bring anyone back, better to have him be of use...

'Cause Loghain is just messed up in the head and I don't like him. Mind you, I'm pretty messed up in the head myself, but nowhere near to that extreme.

I find it real weird how after he spent the entire game hating my guts (and all the other Warden's guts) and trying to kill me or have me killed, I kick his butt in a duel and he surrenders and suddenly acts like he actually respects me and the Wardens? That don't make too much sense.

But then again, I do like letting him live on the occasional play-through. He can be a pretty good companion.

I understand why loghain did what he did and TBH i always keep him alive in the end for 3 reason .

1.i make Allister a king by hardening him and marrying him off to anora.

2.I respect the man with pride for fighting for what he believes in even if he is wrong and faces the consequences of he's actions i respect those qualities in a person.

3.i love the banter between loghain and wynne at return to ostagar DLC this is the main reason why i save his life and do the DLC after i save him from the landsmeet . aye!!!

I've killed and spared Loghain, and I see good reasons for both.

I like Loghain as a character (which is not the same as liking him as a person). In The Stolen Throne and The Calling you see him first as an angry, conflicted young man. He had to watch the rape and murder of his mother at the hands of the Orlesians, and to spend most of his early life as a fugitive. He learned something from his father of the responsibilities of a leader. He's loyal (though he will manipulate the man he follows for "the greater good"), he keeps his word (though he will violate even the most sacred trust "for the greater good"), and he's brave once committed to a fight (though he will write off soldiers and even the son of his ex-lover and closest friend if he doesn't think he can save them). He'll make his choices always based on duty, giving up even love, his own happiness, and the happiness of those around him. He will not admit a mistake unless forced to at sword point, and he has a great capacity for self deception. He's a flawed hero, the best kind of Villain.

I killed him as an Elf, because he sold my people into slavery, threw the country into civil war, and tried to kill me. My character could not forgive him, or trust him, and did not give a damn about his redemption. Let the next Ferelden noble who thought slave trading was an option remember that not even the Regent and father of the Queen was spared. Let Nobles who think of attacking Alistair, their new king, remember Loghain's execution.

I spared him as a Human, because he had once been a Hero, because it would help unite the country, and because killing an enemy who asks for mercy and may yet be of greater use was profoundly unjust. I spared him so that he could redeem himself. In the process, I alienated my closest friend and robbed Ferelden of the man who would have been her king.

Both were fun, and both were in character for those characters.
