Hunting Down Conspiracies

The icemind frowned. "We know that the Azorine Elders fell under a dark influence and became corrupted; the Azorines overthrew them recently. Do you know who, what, ran the IIC? We have never managed to find anything but misleading paper trails and false facades of puppet employees with important sounding positions but no actual real influence on the corporation."

Captain Jack Harkness shook his head. "We only know that real decisions did not come from the official headquarters, in London, but a supposedly secondary HQ near Rome; it is now a nearly abandoned mansion estate apart from a caretaker staff and some security guards."

Sasha arched her eyebrows. "If it is the Raymont Estate than we are looking at Illuminati involvement for at least some of the time that the IIC was operating. In 1901 most of the Raymont Family was murdered by Trifaithful fanatical killers. The Tripope, at the time, denied that the Vatican had sent the attackers or even knew of their existence. The killers called themselves the Truefaithful. The real reason behind the attack could have been linked with a take over of the IIC by non-Illuminati forces. The important question is what was the IIC doing in the Ayers Rock, and the area, back in history?"

A strange shimmering shivering went through everything and everyone. A large area of dark dull cavern wall became bright purple with webwork patterns of black and red. A great square mirror was there, on the wall, surrounded by a copperish metallic frame. Except that the mirror showed a non reversed view of the chamber. A so called Waymirror had appeared; it was far more than a non reversed mirror.

Jack Harkness nodded. "We have a deal, as far as I am concerned, but it will take a committee to give you final permission to start research activity here. You will be under probation and tight supervision but it appears we need your assistance."

The icemind woman smiled coldly. "We are, it seems, in for very interesting times."

Mack, who looked a lot like Mulder, strode into the big chamber and spoke. "Come with me, all of you, because you will want to see what I have to show you."

There were a large number of folks exploring the vast chamber with its many big alcoves and bigger antechambers. It had brightly colored rock walls of exotic alien patterning, great square Waymirrors, Waygates, and other AraArtifacts. Nearly all were Wayartifacts except for a group isolated in their own area. All Wayartifacts were AraArtifacts but not all AraArtifacts were Wayartifacts.

Far more intricate, exotic and disturbing to observe, the AraToto were thirteen in number. Nine big ones, three even bigger ones and one massive one. Each was unique in structure except for a disk shaped metallic stone base with a big rampway around half of it.

A male teen-adult was there with freckled pale white skin wearing old fashioned overalls with many pockets, gumboots and carrying a basic fishing-pole. With him was a big yellow Labrador dog, a fairly big ginger tabby cat sitting on the dog and a colorful parrot sitting on the teen-man's left shoulder. A chubby muscular baby figure, who wore the same kind of outfit as the teen-adult, sat on his right shoulder. She even had a small fishing-pole. Yet, somehow, they all gave the impression that they were not what they appeared to be.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 80.1[124]

Before Everything Changed; Before Anything Changed

Bobbie remembered a different world where there had been more hope, perhaps a chance to alter the destructive path that humanity was moving in. The chance had been squandered.

Bobbie remembered being sent to Luna, to the subsurface colonies there founded inside cave systems that provided much for the refugees, for that is what they really were, from Terra or was that 'terror'?

The metallic stone sphere had come to the Genius13, as if drawn to them or seeking them out or both. It had helped them help humanity and the home world by altering the climatic crisis to a big extent. It had helped humans invent a cheap, more easily mass produced antigravity booster system and made sure it got out. Big governments and corporations did not like such systems but smaller factions were heading to the moon in antigravity globes.

Bobbie sometimes stroked the artifact, even kissed it, though some of her companions thought this to be most strange. Not all, though, and MaryJane began to even cuddle the artifact as much as she could to find it shifted so she could do it more easily. Others did something positive or ignored it but only Brant was negative towards it. He cursed, threatened and punched at it until one day he was hurled through the air and bounced off a wall with much pain. After that Brant openly admired it and even gave it a rubbing now and then.

Ancient AraArtifacts were 'discovered' by Terran lunanauts exploring the vast cave system, that the floating AraArtifact had helped to expand. They provided goods and supplies of basic forms that were most helpful anyway. Some on the items on the list were of surprising nature. All were welcome.

Having made their final decision, the Genius13, learned that the AraArtifact was far from any AraArtifact. It was more sophisticated, powerful, effective than any Wayartifact.

Then, one day, the amazing AraArtifact told the Genius13 of what was really happening with humanity of Terra, with the whole of humanity, and they were shocked. The decision had been a wise one, according to the AraArtifact, and it would support them from then on in many special ways.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

The remerging of the AraComplex, in Ayers Rock (Uluru), to that close to Moontown, in the Lunar Overworld, happened with amazing suddenness and took nearly all by surprise. The strange boy, and his companions, did not seem at all surprised as they quietly kept company with those who came from both places to meet together. Waygates were no longer needed in that transdimensional zone. It was the boy, the Eternal One, that quietly informed them that the Eternal One had 'fixed up the problem' with the help of others who he would not identify. The process would continue, at first in a more hidden fashion, but other AraComplex splinters would be returned to what had been one AraComplex before it was splintered during a very ancient, very terrible war, beyond mortal capacities and comprehension.

Buddy Holly semretired from a long, productive, musical career that had almost ended decades ago in the crash of an aircraft that he failed to be on at the last moment. He was focusing on helping with the world crisis as part of a growing list of VIP Envoys.

Elvis Pelvis had been unfit, unhealthy, but after a Waygate trip fired all of the parasites around him, took them to court to reclaim stolen monies and launched a new career as a rejuvenated man.

Radfems burned thousands of pornographic magazines, shredded and oiled, in a protest in Times Square in NewYork of the USA.

The PanAfrican Conference took place and the PanAfrican Union rose into place across much of Africa.

UmbTek was successfully sued by other orgnizations, including big corporations, for theft of intellectual property, market manipulation and other reasons. The $100,000,000 payout was, for the times, massive and easily the biggest to ever be made. UmbTek shares plunged to an all time low.

The appearances of UFOs became relatively few and those of gray saucers stopped. The Graynari were focused in fighting against their enemies near Jupiter and in other timespace sectors.

The public learned of the secret war that had been waged in the Forbaden Zone, of the Known Ordered World, a place of exotic jungle that was mostly one single organism. There were other plants, dinosaurs, dragons, the denizens and much more there including the Godtree that was not the GrandJungle. The war was to stop invasions of taking place against the Known Ordered World but it achieved other purposes. Generally the place was known as Junglenam. The Havenlanders had mixed feelings on what was happening but supported the secret war out of necessity. The Forbaden Zone existed, as the same realm, both on Terra and on the world-bubble wrapped planet of Venus.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 82.1[126]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

The swarm came attacking through cave systems, at first, of hiva soldiers of black biomechanical nature, long hard sharp teeth, head to tail spikes, long tails and claw-hands. Their very toxic blood was dangerous in itself but could be neutralized easily enough. Hivaca soldiers were of a general kind using great, retractable, metallic clawblades. They also spat toxic blood and fired off metallic spinedarts. They looked like distorted biometallic, biomechanical, dinosaur raptors.

Hivaca dwelt at the edges of the Selenite NestEmpire, raiding to devour selenites or to steal their big grub-cattle to take off to implant their young in. Like wasp larvae, hivaca larvae would eat the grub-cattle from the inside out but the victims were comotose and felt no pain.

The floating octopoid creatures, octonoids, fired off four smaller weapons, with one upper tentacle per weapon, or two bigger weapons, with two upper tentacles per weapon. They had experienced hivaca raids many times in the past and feared-hated the creatures as did Luntyr and many others.

Selenite soldiers swarmed in response at the hivaca, biometallic and biomechanical, firing off spinedarts and even attached guns shooting bullets.

Amanda, and Armstrong, fought in power armour as they hunkered down in bunkers and fired of 12.7mm calibre battlerifles. They blasted holes in the heads of the hivaca soldiers with the new type of bullets. Around them were power armored humans, both Terrans and Lunatyr who had finally accepted power armor, including UN Peacekeepers, Havenic Spacetroopers and a large number identified loosely as 'mercenaries'. Launchers fired grenadeshells, grenaderockets, rocket-grenades, rockets and missiles. Mortars arced shells over towards the enemy. Upgraded recoilles cannons fired of advanced shells. The recoiless cannons had come from one of the metallic stone alcoves in the Ayers Rock Sector of the newly merged AraComplex.

Then came Hivaca hulking heavy-soldiers shooting spine-arrows, jetting big spurts of toxic blood and extending huge clawblades.

Amanda spoke. "Those big things are easy targets but damned hard to kill. Why would the hivaca attack us, here? I can't see what they would get from doing so."

Armstrong spoke. "My Eternal Seeker side informs me that they are cloned hivaca creatures. I doubt that the original hivaca would come here when they tend to avoid attacking heavily guarded targets or even areas of conflict. The non-clone hivaca are raiders, not conquerers. The 'real' hivaca would not appreciate the cloning of their kind, would see it as a threat, but they would first try to assimilate the clones before trying to destroy them."

Hunting Down Conspiracies

The clone-hivaca were joined by kinds never seen naturally, ones that fired off one-use rocket-grenade launchers or machineguns that they dumped when the weapons became empty of ammo. The clones had basic computers and some cybernetics but nowhere near enough to class them as cyborg-clones.

Cloned Lunatyr soldiers came in hulking mechasuits and big power armor identical to that of their enemies. These were basic clones whose mentalities were of limited flexibility and level of intelligence. Still they used battlerifles, and other weapons, with much effect. The weapons were also the same as used by the defenders.

Amanda scowled. "Who is supplying them armor-arms of our kind? They could be manufactured by traitors or be copies."

Armstrong frowned. "Something is most wrong with those clones. They are not of surrogate mothers, biowombs or even of biovats but something less natural. Damn it, they are necroclones that one might call quasi-undead; they are unstable and will degrade until they become truly undead; then they will fail, as undead, and die. They are dangerous, expendable, toys created by some force that must be quite insane, quite removed, and very blind to the consequences of what it is doing. Now we have one way to kill them very effectively."

Xolasers, that is special UV-lasers, were brought out of storage to burn holes through skin-armor and power armor. The xolasers were energy expensive but the necroclones quickly burned away and left all sorts of goodies to be carefully cleansed and reused.

The battle was won but new questions had emerged to be answered.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 83.1[128]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

The big cabincruiser was better armored-armed than it had been with a wide range of radars, sonars, sensors, scanners and other electronic trickery. This included flying, and aquatic, robotic drones. The cabincruiser headed through Indonesian Territorial Waters but was not showing many lights though it had good authenticated reasons for being there.

Frankie, and Brent, stood on the dully lit bridge and examined the ocean through a large monitor screen that was linked to night-vision capable cameras. The armored shutters were down over the armored windscreens of the bridge and so that was the only way to see. Other views showed what the drones were observing. There were radar, sonar, sensor, scanner and other data to view.

The alarm rang even as a submarine drone picked up, with its sonar, a form slipping through the ocean with amazing speed. It was big but not huge. It was strangely squad 'shaped' except that the head was rounder, more like that of an octopus. It changed course, with amazing suddenness, and the data ceased coming from the drone. The submarine drone was destroyed.

Frankie pressed a red button and the cabincruiser, along with the drones, ceased to send out any forms of detection pulses or beams. Something may have drawn the 'thing' to the drone and they could not afford it coming after the cabincruiser.

Then they saw 'it' rise out of the ocean, a far bigger version of the thing that had been spotted by the drone. The idea of it looking like an octopus squid hybrid failed for it was of a kind of metallic scales colored tarnished golden and silver in strange blends along with purple and black areas. There was something profoundly unnatural about it. Great eye-tentacles came up out of the body and most of the nine were looking at the cabincruiser.

Frankie pressed the red button again and there was again more data coming in. The smaller version of the thing, before them, had vanished. None of the drones could pick up anything except for the big thing. Wildlife had fled the area, as if had 'sensed' the profound unnaturalness of the creature.

Brent spoke, expressing the shock that he felt. "Damned monster could swallow a whole lot of submarines. I wonder how many of them are out there. Is the smaller one a younger version of the bigger thing or... just smaller."

Frankie shook her head. "I do not know but 'something' tells me that is is leaving, that it has decided not to attack us."

Then the big monster did leave, plunging into the ocean to shoot away through the waters with impressive speed.

The Writer

It was time for simplification of story streams!

It was time for characters to join actively together!

It was already being done!

The Writer's quill-pen made scratching noises as the Writer squinted over his medieval type plastic parchment paper with its in built neon reflecto microchips and aversion therapy affiliations.

It seemed that the search for conspiracies was going nowhere.

The Writer paused to waggle his quill-pen at some cockroaches who were conspiring to steal one of his crunchy munchy peanut butter banana cream super biscuit type cookies. He punished them by giving them one, which caused them much joyful suffering as the little gluttons devoured it.

The monsters? Terrible monsters! He had a love hate relationship with monsters.

Except monsters like Sesame Street's Cookie Monster because he LOVED Cookie Monster!!!

Blue furred Cookie Monster showed up with a big bag of cookies and then two more came along just for luck. Soon they were feeding cockroaches, spiders, elephants, brontosauruses and other typical medieval type animals.

The Writer slipped on a twenty-one double lens set of reading glasses with built in LCD spotlights and heavy editing correction machineguns. With this new assistance he focused again on improving his on going story.

In the background elephants wrestled with brontosauruses, for the last few cookies, even as the Writer found that his new glasses were not really helpful at all.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 84.1[129]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

They were all in the Transglobe, in a special designed conference chamber, being people from many factions of the Lunar Overworld and Terra. They sat in special chairs that conformed to their shapeforms for not all were human. There were even octopoid creatures in low gravity globes who would have found the one gee gravity, in the chamber, unpleasant to deal with. Lunartyr were in special chairs that supported them in their lesser discomfort.

Gravet Maharg stood there at the fore as behind the Eternal Guardian big 3Dscreens showed data in many varied ways. He spoke. "What have all of the efforts come to that have sought to find some kind of conspiracy? No real answers and more questions! Even now the SavaCompact is being crushed and its attempts to launch glimmerpods at Terra totally failed to happen. The entity, known as Savathool, has vanished with his followers and PanAxis forces have retreated to their home territories. Was it all a diversion? Have we been led by the nose to race after diversion after diversion?"

Gravet frowned. "The LittleFatMan has stated the following about our efforts, and the efforts of others; 'Answers are being sought but perhaps the wrong questions are being asked.' Have we been asking the wrong questions, looking in the wrong direction, making false assumptions?"

The rainbow suitcase, when opened, had produced many special gifts that had expanded after being taken out of it. A three metre wide rainbow swirling globe floated in one corner of the big chamber that enhanced the capacities of the Transglobe, slowly making those enhancements permanent.

Gravet went on. "Question? What is going on that we most need to focus on finding answers to?"

Jack Harkness spoke out. "The glimmerpods launched at Terra were assumed to be attacks to start outbreaks of glimmermist in the Known Ordered World. Yet most of them fell into the oceans where they were destroyed. Except now we know that they carried something inside that we suspect strongly were linked to the appearance of bizarre ocean monsters. We could assume those monsters are meant to attack those of the Known Ordered World but there has been no real evidence of it. The Japanese atomic submarine, that vanished, was found at the bottom of the ocean having been the victim of multiple network-systems failure and not of any form of attack by monsters."

Gravet nodded. "So what are the necropuses, as we now call them, and what is their real purpose? They were sent here in glimmerpods and it was assumed that it was to disguise their being sent here from Luna but that may not be true. The necropuses may have needed the glimmermist, trapped in the glimmerpods, to begin their existence in the Terran Overworld."

Doctor Dana Scully spoke out. "That would mean that not all of the glimmermist was destroyed by contact with sea water. How does it explain the appearance of glimmerfogs floating over the same areas of ocean where the glimmerpods landed and were destroyed?"

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 84.2[130]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

There were no answers despite the masses of data that had been collected, compiled and analyzed. The same data had been used to create a large number of reports and had supported many briefings.

Then an octonoid spoke through its globe speakers. "We know, we of the Mother of Eight Glories, we know from legends that the glimmerfogs are created by the necropuses, as you call them, and grow to allow the necropuses to be supported by them. When they are self enclosed the necropuses are protected from sunlight, salt water and other such threats but they must open up, inside glimmerfog, on a regular basis to continue to exist. Necropuses serve the Great Enemy or so the same legends state. They are not an aspect of the Great Enemy but are one of its many kinds of antinatural creations. They do special kinds of tasks for the Great Enemy such as exploring environments that are hostile to the undead."

Armstrong spoke out. "Exploring could mean that they are searching for something. As the Eternal Seeker it comes to me that the necropuses are seeking something primary to the Timespace Event, are seeking some kind of very exotic, very unique, form of ancient alien artifact. I see a floating sphere of metallic stone that appears to be some kind of AraArtifact and yet I know, somehow, it is not a Wayartifact." Then he shook his head. "It is gone, the flow of information is gone."

Gravet Maharg responded. "At least we now have some kind of real lead. Have all of the items, taken from the necroclones, been safely disposed of?"

It had turned out that all the armor, weapons and other items of the necroclone attackers had been created in an antinatural manner of duplication. They began to break down and becom increasingly toxic.

Armstrong nodded. "All of it has been rounded up and destroyed but two Lunatyr thieves are very sick and under being treated in an intensive manner. They stole, and ate, duplicated rations that not even the necroclones were consuming."

Gravet Maharg responded. "I will take a look at them. The only way to save them may be for them to go through a testing-transformation process. If they are successful they will end up in Sanctum with a new improved chance of a life."

They kept on discussing matters and worked out that Savathool, and his shapeshifting people, had been used to do some tasks. There was no discovered lead between Savathool and the faction that had him creating the SavaCompact and attempting to get glimmerpods launched to Terra. Even the Eternal Seeker had been unable to find anything.

I intend to keep this story topic going much further, using it to experiment with ideas that I am putting into my 'draft' of a novel. I am trying to simplify the system of titles, and numbers, from the start to make it all easier to follow for my editing purposes and your ease of reading; please be patient.

While I do not expect any, positive feedback would be of assistance.

If you want to check out the kind of changes I have been making just browse through the first few pages of this story topic.
