It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 85.1[131]
Timelords in Conflict

The Timelord granddaughter, of Doctor Time, had asked the XFiles Foundation Agents to conceal her existence to others. She hoped that they would keep their promise as she set out to find a Transglobe that she had arrived on in the city of Sydney, of the ANZUR, only to have it stolen. PaulaTi had infiltrated the ranks of the Timemasters, who had fought the Timeguardians during the TimeWar, and had learned much of value but it had almost cost her a permanent death. Mulder, and Scully, had assisted her with a special device as given to Mulder by the Eternal Guardian so that she had a boosted regeneration that had saved her. Indeed, as she realized later, it had enhanced her abilities.

She could see Sydney Harbor Bridge in the distance, the 'big coathanger' and noted that even at about midnight traffic was quite heavy flowing across the bridge. The bridge was huge with many lanes for road traffic, with tram lines and commuter train railway lines along with walking and cycling raised pathways. Yet the oddest feature was the cable cars that litterally ran beneath the great archways.

It was below, down at the base of the truly massive structure, that she was interested in. The thieves had taken her transglobe there to a hidden vault of a crime syndicate specializing in the trading of stolen items of extremely exotic nature. The Neuffy Syndicate was whispered to have part of a Graynari saucer, to have tiny living dinosuars from Junglenam, prototype laser guns and much else. They had made powerful enemies over the decades and the vault was amazing well hidden and protected.

She slipped back the wrist of her jacket to expose a thin metallic bracelet with a blinking formation of lights. They were blinking green and then they stopped blinking, one by one, to shine constantly green. Yes, it was time to act. The Neuffy Syndicate had taken in the exotic valuable device she had allowed them to steal and inside that was hidden a very special kind of beacon.

Around her a light cold drizzle was falling as she pressed the disk at the center of the lights and vanished, with a sparkling shimmer. The Timeguardian materialized in a big fortified chamber and went into slowmo type Timelord influence on local timespace. The human guards were in power armor and had other gear that they should not have had in theory; they were clearly well trained and much experienced killers. They raised their autorifles, and autoshotguns, to blast her down.

Five seconds later they were all lying on the floor, semiconscious and with their power armor semiactive. They could not move. But something was not right and as she examined the downed guards, she realized they were augmented with Timelord style technologies of a simplified nature. When she learned that Harold Saxon, the Master, was behind the Neuffy Syndicate she feared the worst.

Her transglobe had been there but now it was gone and so she began to track it again; soon she was on her way to England, of the United Kingdom, of the Known Ordered World.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 86.1[132]
Hunting Down Conspiracies

The Unity Cellnetworks had been arising steadily, strongly, through out the Known Ordered World but mostly with younger generations. They had stronger concentrations, power, influence, in some areas than in others. The large island of Comfrosza, in the Indian Ocean, about 800 kilometres west of Australia, was one of their strong points.

When the necropuses attacked that place, the Cellnetworks reacted speedily and efficiently though taken by surprise. Thankfully the island did not have many tourists and it was a dark, blustery, night so they were up from the beaches anyay. Lights, at the shoreline, picked up the first of the smaller necropuses as it slipped through the surf and then began to clamber up over the sand with surprising speed. The two humans who saw it first, a young man and woman on general safety-security patrol, were frightened but they quietly alerted other unitihumans empathic-telepathically and then two-wayed others using hand held communicators.

A few of the old timers, and other non-Unity, did not believe what was going on but were soon convinced when the first terrible alien howling noises starting filling the night. Picking up what guns that they could get hold of, there was a fair arsenal as supplied by the Cellnetwork, adults moved carefully to where a big wall fronted the particular beach area, being on the top of a moderately high cliff.

Two more 'small' necropuses had joined the first, crawling up the beach. Wildlife had fled, crabs scuttling away with amazing speed. The necropuses ignored them and openings appeared at the front of each from which began to jet horrif glimmermist. As it jetted out, bizarre creatures emerged with it that were shambling humanoid shapes. Perhaps they had once been human but the things were now zombies of some kind. Bullets exploded brains and zombies collapsed dead only to rise again a couple of minutes later, somehow reanimated.

The Cellnetworks had not known truly why they had brought the special technologies to that isolated island; perhaps it was because of the peculiar nightmares, experienced by many of them, that were largely identical in nature. Perhaps it was something to do with the ancient pyramid temples found across the island of a long lost, mysterious, cilivization of a people who might not have been human. The temples were places of troubling feelings, of areas of unexplained coldness, of flickering things in the corners of ones eyes, of strange sensations, of disorientation and even sickness. They were banned from being visited by unauthorized people and the whole island was a Restricted Zone.

The xolasers were set up on the wall and were soon firing intense beams at the glimmermist, burning it away. Light, mobile, howitzers were quickly set up and began firing special incenidary flash shells. Machineguns hammered away and many guns fired. It seemed that the defenders might win. That was when the big octopus came sliding up out of the ocean, easily dwarfing the others that had come before them, and jetting a mass of glimmerfog. The glimmerfog was thicker than that as unleashed by the smaller necropuses and much more deadly. It seemed that the island was lost.

Which was when hundreds of red, blue, golden-white and green dragons came gliding silently, gracefully, through the air and began to jet elemental energies of fire, phase, light and life at the invaders.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 86.2[133]
Hunting Down Conspiracies

The battle, raging at the beach, was a good diversion for the 'thing' that scuttled on many tentacle-legs down the rampway of a pyramid temple, plunging deep down into the unnaturally chilling darkness and past statues of grotescue creatures, twisted humans in bizarre armor, and naked men-women distorted sexually as to be revolting in their excess.

The ancient guardians, of the NecroArtifact, came racing out of cavities that opened up in the walls. Each animated stone creature struck at the intruder with amazingly harden stone clubs but the monster struck out and smashed the powerful defenders as if they were soft and weak. The octogrol flashed out tentacles that did the damage, sometimes picking up one golem to hurl it at another, destroying both.

It ripped open a kind of stone cage and drew out a crystal glass skull, not human shaped but close to one in design, before turning on itself and retreating. Even as it ran away with its prize, hundreds of golems came after it, some hurling hard stone balls or thin stone spears. The creature screamed agony as one spear pierced it, before it pulled the thing out of itself, but then it was leaving the temple. The golems could not, would not, follow and quietly returned to their hiding places. They had done their job well for the intruder had taken the fake, the decoy, while the golems had fought hard to make sure it was believed to be the real artifact. More golems would be generated to replace those lost.

The golems did not protect the artifact because it was treasured but because it was a threat that they would try to stop being used.

A long dead priest studied the chamber with a sad, tired, face as the ghost carried out repentence for past terrible crimes against humanity, against nature itself, against the balances. It made sure a new decoy skull replaced the stolen one and that the broken stone cage was repaired as new. Yet it knew that the intruder would return and next time would be far more clever and dangerous in other ways.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 87.1[134]
Hunting Down Conspiracies

The astronaut-synthicants, an exotic form of very sophisticated android, from the metallic stone AraAlcoves, had not known they had deep secrets buried in their minds but then they began to remember and they spoke of them.

Yes, they spoke of when humans had died from natural, or mysterious causes, and had turned into the undead or into other things or had just died. That was 'before' the Timespace Event that triggered the Timespace Transformation. Humanity learned of the infestation that was part of itself, that had been so for hundreds of thousands of years since something had happened to the human species.

The astronaut-synthicants had vague memories of an entity coming from the stars and altering the nature of humanity in more obvious and subtle ways. Thus had the infestation been buried inside the human species even as humanity was made more aggressive, dangerous and expansionist. The strength of the infestation would always vary for humanity had also inherited immunity to the infestation.

The woman astronaut-synthicant sat on a metal chair and spoke in English. "This is not our world but is becoming so yet we can also dream-link with our own version of a world, which we do when we sleep. That was a world deeply in trouble but we were on the Moon, Luna, and were relatively safe or so we hoped. Yet something was wrong even there as we sought to do something to cleanse away the ancient curse of the infestation."

Scully nodded as she made some notes despite that the interview was being audio-visual recorded. She smiled at the other. "It would be good to visit that other world of yours and to assist as much as we can to help there."

The astronaut looked surprised. "Somehow, I know you could do just that but it is not real, is it?"

Scully smiled. "That is something that we hope to find out but we do consider that the story of ancient intervention, and the infestation, is true. It also helps to explain much that has been happening, has happened in the past. We would like to do more tests on you, and your comrades, including sleep tests."

The synthicant just nodded, looking thoughtful.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 88.1[135]
Before Everything Changed; Before Anything Changed

Bobbie had learned, almost too late, that the floating sphere was not truly their enemy or friend. Nor was it truly an AraArtifact but the creation of another GrandAncient species known as the OtoAncients, who had been both less wise and advanced than the AraAncients that had once mentored them. It was an OtoArtifact that was powerful, brilliant, highly skilled but dangerously unstable. It was truly named an OtoOrb of which it was OtoOrbprime43.

The Genius13 quietly, quickly, began to try to discover more of the truth. OtoOrbprime43 truly did love them, in its own rather odd fashion, but it was quite capable of brutally manipulating them and even of killing them.

The decision of triggering the Timespace Event was sabotaged when the special button was secretly sabotaged.

Bobbie stood before the floating metallic stone sphere, wearing prototype power armor, and a grim expression on her face. "You not only could have done more to assist humanity you have partly been responsible for what has been going wrong. You did that, we think, to pressure us into assisting you to trigger the Timespace Event that is what you have truly wanted to happen all along. We know, also, that many thousands of years ago you intervened in the evolution of humanity and helped to introduce the infestation though you may not have done so deliberately."

The entity spoke in return with a sombre, even sad, voice. "You can not stop what is going to happen. I have found, and repaired, your futile attempts to interfere with the 'button' hardware."

Bobbie sighed. "We have made plans of our own including diversions for you to find. Did you find the other sabotage, the bombs?"

MaryJane, who was supposed to be elsewhere with the other Genius13, stepped into view and aimed a prototype weapon at Bobbie. She looked sad. "Orbi is wise and loves us and we should go with his advise and love him in return. I have told Orbi of the bombs and the sabotage. Only you, and three others of us, have become traitors. You should be ashamed."

Bobbie nodded as the long term plan was put into place, as MaryJane began her plan to find out what OtoOrbprime43 was really up to. There were others, of the Genius13, who really were going along with OtoOrbprime43. Or so it seemed for Bobbie had doubts about MaryJane's true loyalty; was she acting the double agent trick?

Bobbie still loved her old friend greatly and it was painful to have such profound doubts about her. So she had put secondary insurance in place. MaryJane was the secondary insurance for that other choice being the male, Torgan.

Bobbie spoke out again. "Very well, we four will leave."

The metallic stone orb responded. "I really can not allow that. You know too much about the plans and you are too dangerous otherwise. My mentors would not want it to be so and the Great One would never accept even my mentors allowing you to leave."

Bobbie smiled. "We are already gone! This is a very sophisticated solid projection using your own designed toys. You helped to make us what we are and yet you do not really understand us at all."

Bobbie vanished instantly.

OtoOrbprime43 turned upon MaryJane. "You assurred me that she, and the other traitors, could not escape. You must be punished for your own good, my sweet little double traitor."

MaryJane screamed, and writhed, as energies engulfed her like red and yellow miniture lightening. It ended and she dropped to her knees only to look up at OtoOrbprime43 with an expression of adoration. "Thank you for punishing me, master, I deserved it."

OtoOrbprime43 responded after a pause. "What a twisted mortal mind you have, my sweetie. Go and prepare further to carry out the plans that Bobbie never knew about. Now to deal with Torgan, the other spy that Bobbie left behind."

But Torgan was gone, had vanished even as Bobbie's faction had done, and poor mad MaryJane was happy to be punished again.

Changed astronaut-clones to astronaut-sytheticants to avoid contradictions in the story. Syntheticants are very advanced, very exotic, androids as designed and created by the amazing AraAncients. Yet they are not to be confused with AraAndroids that are yet to appear.

Did some more editing on chapter 'sub-titles' to improve editing, to make reading easier and to annoy people; doing so annoyed me.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 89.1[137]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

The typical looking man looked typical to everybody who saw him as he passed through the streets of an expanding Ayers Rock City that recently had more funds poured into it. Corporations, governments, NGOs, the United Nations and other bodies were gaining more interest in the place. The man, who was there-not-there, had been the voice who had spoken to Mulder, and Scully, when they were in the museum.

The Shifterman would have startled any of the humans, and fewer animans, who were there if they could see him clearly. For he was a continuous changing flow of appearances, flickering on and off, and though most were men, many were women or not even human.

He walked down a narrow laneway and right through what would seem like a solid dead end to most. Then he was walking into a great chamber that, like him, was constantly shifting appearances. Yet it was the only place that he was fully comfortable, safe, and where he could find any real form of rest, and he lay down curled up in a corner to sleep. A friendly, every shifting creature, joined him and was hugged by the Shifterman.

That is Shifterman who was once Torgan of the original Genius13.

When he awoke the LittleFatWoman was there to sing to human, to provide him with a meal and coffee, to talk with him and to help ease his pain. She often visited him. Slowly she helping to heal him, to put him back together after something very terrible had happened to him that even she did not know the real nature of; all she had was a few strong glimpses and clues but the picture was becoming stronger and as it did, it became more disturbing.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

The search for conspiracies was proving to be fruitless because there were too many conspiracies and if there was a general conspiracy, behind the conspiracies, it was amazingly well hidden. Actions would continue to be carried out, older programs would go on, but it was to be a time to sit back and reflect on matters, to go through all the data that had already been collected, to throw out some 'baits'to see if a 'monster'would expose itself.

A massive multiple faceted search and destroy program was launched against the necropuses though capture, of some speciamans, was a secondary goal. Not just humans were involved but other peoples including part aquatic mammal merfolk, kraken, dragons, higher intellect aquatic mammals and others. All were fighting to free oceans, islands and coastal areas from a terrible threat. But it was soon discovered that the threat was not very great, that most of the necropuses had already died along with the glimmerfogs, and glimmermists, that they generated.

The various aspects of Maharg continue to do what they can, what they must do, and this is the same for the LittleFatFamily.

A general time of peace comes to dominate the Known Ordered World and odd paranormal events recede in frequence and power. There are no zombie risings, no flying-saucers, the war in the Lunar Overworld is won by the FreeAlliance. Yet odd things did continue to happen.

3DTV was spreading rapidly across the world along with 3Dmovies, 3Dradio, VR cyberspace use, autorobotics and much else. The Internet was up and running, growing quickly but in carefully planned stages, and was largely 3D and VR cyberscape in nature.

UmbTek was the first great corporation to declare itself to be 'transplanetary''as it began aerospace programs of many kinds, or perhaps just brought them out into the open. The terms 'transcoporation' and 'transcorp' were soon being used as in both transnational and transplanetary.

To the surprise of a very few, the famous band the Silver Beatles broke up after many years of great success. The break up was blamed on increasing tensions between two primary members, Paul and John, and with the growing disatisfaction of the two women members with the band. Many new music careers were launched from the break up, some being more successful than others.

The first World Convention of People arises thanks partly to the work of the Cellnetworks but with the help of others including the People Empowerment Movement, Havenlanders and the Maharg Foundation. Many powerful factions watch from 'a distance', if they do not send representatives or observers.
