Can you survive as a marksman ?

I was wondering if, in Vanilla Oblivion you can survive on pure marksman. Like no blade or blunt....only marksman. In my point of view you cannot thinking that it's very hard to gain marksman experience and enemies die very hard. What is your opinion ?

If you build stealth or also specialise in Illusion,You can survive as a pure Marksman.It is a harder style to play in the beginning and it is a challenge for an experienced player.A nastily enchanted dagger will still kill a rat with a blade skill of five.

If you can train it up to the maximum quickly, the paralyzation can serve you well in combat.

You certainly can! In fact, that's my favourite type of character!

 

I rely on Marksman and stealth almost 100% during combat. Plus a few illusion skills thrown in here and there. I don't find it very hard at all.

I can't play effectively, but I LIKE playing with marksman, but I like moded bows and arrows, since original ones are underpowered. :confused:

haha valid question, but if u know the tactics it can very much be done. i do it myself its my favorite kind of weapon and i'm very successful. some tips, take alchemy as a skill and get good with it! learn what become damage health or fire damage potions and poison ur shots it helps very much. also always make sure ur backing up after ur initial shot and ALWAYS keep ur distance between an enemy. if u want any more help on how to succeed in this just let me know and ill tell you :)

Always play a marksman character, don't think I've equipped a blade in months, make sure you have sneak as one of your main skills though.

 

Oh, and a good bow enchant is:

 

35 shock damage 1 second

20 drain health 3 seconds

 

That takes you up to the maximum (vanilla) enchant. :thumbsup:

I haven't played vanila oblivion but i think i could because i always play with marksman,sneak and illusion or destruction skill.

I particulary like playing with handtohand skill with septh's handtohand animation replacer. :laugh:

Could someone sugest where to find a good bow with damage health spell enchanted. :happy: :happy: Thank you.

Playing as a Marksman is cheating. My Archeress is Level 22. She uses a Daedric Bow with iron tipped arrows and no enhancements. The only magic she uses is healing and open locks. I forbid the use of Chameleon or Invisibility magic because it make the game far too easy. If you want a real game challenge play as a Spellcaster or Mêlée Fighter.
