Peregrine
1) Nuke North Dakota off the map, to prevent more pointlessly vague threads like this. 2) Immediate departure from Iraq. The war is accomplishing nothing useful for us, and is a huge resource drain. 3) All security-related laws passed since Sept. 11th, 2001 will cease to exist. These laws are completely unconstitutional, and represent an entirely unjustified restriction of personal freedom and privacy. Any politician attempting to restore them or pass similar vote-buying violations of privacy will be stripped of his office and banned from future elections. 4) Tax rates will immediately be cut by 50%. All taxes other than income taxes will be removed. If the government wishes to continue operating, it may adapt to its new budget. Any politician attempting to raise tax rates or pass new taxes will be stripped of his office and banned from future elections. Any politician attempting to evade this law through increasing the national debt (unless a state of national emergency or war has been declared) will be stripped of his office and then shot. 6) Social Security will immediately end. All money currently in the program will be distributed proportionally to those who paid it. The system is completely flawed and unworkable, and is doomed to eventual failure. Killing it now will save money in the long run. 6) The BATF will cease to exist. Its abusive handling of its firearms responsibility is unacceptable. As a side effect, so will all current firearms laws. Any politician proposing any new regulations on firearms of .50 cal or less will be stripped of his office and banned from future elections. 7) The War on Drugs will cease to exist. While the goal is arguably a good one, it wastes massive resources for no useful effect, and has resulted in greatly expanded and unconstitutional police powers. 8) The Department of Homeland Security will cease to exist, and all senior members of it will be shot for incompetence. Whichever of them decided New York City has "no valuable landmarks or potential terrorist targets" a few weeks ago will be tortured before execution. The entire department accomplishes nothing besides making people feel better, while in fact making us less secure, and costs us massive amounts of money and inconvenience. 9) Illegal immigration laws will be enforced. What part of "illegal" is so hard to understand? Those found knowingly violating them (I'm looking at you, Wal Mart/etc) will be sent to prison for at least 20 years per incident. Any illegal immigrants caught will be removed from the country, no questions asked. Any politician supporting idiocy like drivers licenses for them (unless as part of a plan to register them for more efficient deportation) will be stripped of his office, and banned from any future elections. These changes may be accompanied by an increase in legal immigration quotas. New citizens are welcome, but they will become citizens through the proper legal methods. 10) All supporters of government-enforced morality (school prayer, banning same-sex marriage, etc) will be removed from the country. If this is unconstitutional, the constitution will be changed to make it legal. 11) The entire public education system will be redesigned from the beginning. As a part of this, the debate over evolution is over. Evolution is the accepted theory and creationism is not. Anyone advocating creationism in schools or attempting to teach it will be stripped of their position and banned from holding public office or any job related to education. 12) The current welfare system will be redesigned. There will be no more buying alcohol while on foodstamps. Welfare benefits will be paid only after agreement to stricter rules about purchases and mandatory job training. And so on. But this should be a good partial list.
Mavoss
hey I'm from Germany.. I think our Government (the german one) should throw the US of a cliff and stop wasting money to rebuild countries the US sometimes bombs. If they want to own them, they should pay for them themself. Maybe then they realise that other countrys twonsfolk like welfare more than bombs O.o also the stupid education system should follow the US off the cliff. It's no good way to try to FORCE people to get wise O.o maybe we should get rid of our red tape ^^ but there are 6.248.153 forms needed to be filled out to do this O.o

karkarinus
I'm in the UK, and I think our government should throw itself off a cliff and let the Tories take over. Vaanic, you obviously don't remember John Major very well, and 13 years of Maggie Thatcher were thankfully over by the time you were born. Having said that, though, I have been living in Spain since just before Blair got in and am thus unable to opine. Here, the two main parties (one left and one right) are both equally incompetent vote-conning arseholes who wouldn't have the balls to throw themselves of the cliff, and should therefore be pushed. Although if Bush and Blair went first, they would probably follow anyway, thinking it was cool. Peregrine: pointlessly vague thread Er - yep

ThetaOrionis01
Ban everyone who wants to be a politician from ever holding public office. Restrict the right to vote to people able to make an informed decision about what they are voting for. Plant more trees.
karkarinus
No, I don't. But hey, anyone could do better than Blair right now. Except the Spanish. Restrict the right to vote to people able to make an informed decision about what they are voting for. So - er - only the politicans themselves then, presuming you don't mean a misinformed decision? At the end of the day we're all just voting for who gets to line their pockets next. Only in the States and most of europe it's all designed to appear "above board. At least in Argentina they don't make any secret of the fact that they're conning the public en masse.
