Dullahan
Speaking of taunts and rejoinders, every time I hear an Imperial Watch say "You have my ear, citizen.", I cannot help but think, "Oh, that? I bought it off some shady-looking fellow just up the road. You know, you ought to have a healer check that out..." And happy fortune that everyone in the game knows my last name (actually, it's just an epithet). Though it is somewhat rude that they address me simply as "Hael." and leave it at that. ;) Whoa!!! Rhydderch Hael is your true name?? And i thought my true name, Ogham Taraka-Azazael O'Egan was wierd.. my parents had strange senses of humours... I am not a 6th-Century Brythonic king with a magic sword. I just play one on TV.

I've considered teaching them some manners but their replacements would probably be equally clue less. And they wonder how the Emperor could be assassinated on their watch ;-). GBHis
Reminds me of yesterday... I've just got my hands on the thieves den mod, I clear the dungeon and say to myself: "YeS!" I steal the Varla stone from *is it Cheydinhal where people can just walk in, talk with the countess and pick it up?*, sell it to Ongar for the crappiest price in all Tamriel, go to that pirate ship and takes a look at my options for upgrades. "Spymaster" Whew! Now I can get someone to tell me of all caravans and places of treasure! That rocks!I hire the spymaster, but gets disappointed when I find out that he's just a sneak trainer. Bem.Then I notice the little bar: "Due to the prestige of being in your crew, Zedrick Green has joined you as a pirate."Cool! I hurry to the cave to have a talk with him. No other options than "Rumors." Bem. I click "Rumors" and he answers me with something like: "That I won't tell you. You know why? That's because I don't like you." Really? Then get the hell outta' my secret cave. And you know what? You're fired! That's because I don't like YOU.Rude and stupid, they could have set the disposition a little higher, if you ask me. As for newspapers, it should be possible.Textbooks and scrolls is displayed via some html-like syntax. You'll need a scrolls with some format like:--- Yesterday's rude assasination of Thomas Wayne has lead the--- city guards of Anvil's suspition towards {[PLRNAME]}.--- We haven't been able to get an interview with {[PLR3PGEN]}, but maybe there's something--- to it.Then the script would read the contents of the scroll into a variable, find the first ocurrance of the {[]}-tag, replace it via some dictionary-array (like playeraddressing['PLRNAME']) and proceed like that. I haven't created a single mod, but I would like to help anyone willing to make this their current project all that I can with the scripting... -GBHis

Rhydderch Hael
Funny and cool stuff aside, the most decidedly odd thing I've heard in the game was a Rumor response from Ogier, the alchemy proprietor of The Main Ingredient in the Imperial City. Something to the tune of, "Did you hear what happened to Amantius Allectius? Somebody ransacked his home and murdered him!" I'm led to believe that this was a response to what happens if the Thieves Guild initiation test doesn't go off smoothly. I had two problems believing Ogier, though. First reason: since I was there, I knew for certain that the theft of Allectius' diary went off without a hitch. No one discovered me, and no one certainly died. Second reason: call me odd, but when the guy you say was killed is standing right there in your shop, I have to reluctantly disagree with your claim, mister!

Michelene
The oddest thing I heard an NPC say was when I was in the Anvil Fighter's guild. I was looking for Azzan, and when I went into his office, Llensi Llaram was in there, too (it was funny, she started away from him just as I entered, making it appear as though they were up to no good). All that aside, Llensi says to me, "The Shipmaster, Heinrich Oaken-Hull, has a Wood Elf for a wife. I'd rather sleep with my horse." o_O What kind of remark is that? I mean, it doesn't portray her in a very attractive light. And right in front of Azzan, too. Racist. Like Dark Elves are all that. Probably Heinrich rebuffed her advances in Shipmaster school, so she dropped out, disillusioned, and joined the fighter's guild. Now she's got nothing better to do than bad mouth Oaken-Hull's new hottie. This just made me want to liberate her steed before she could bespoil it. I did some checking, and could not find her horse anywhere. All I can think is that he must have overheard her remark and bolted to preserve his delicate moral sensibilities. Good horsie! ;D
cryocry
LOL yeah especially since my avatar is top of the rank now in the arena, I still find it funny that he says that. Also the DB Khajit (merchant), he cracks me up. Oh yeah, in that one quest where you have to kill everybody? Well, I think he knew that you were going to kill him because he was just ACTING friendly. He still says that your an annoying whelp unworthy of licking his boots. I tortured him with this one spell, 50 seconds of pain, I created that does damage health 3pts for 50 seconds! He was running around! Speaking of taunts and rejoinders, every time I hear an Imperial Watch say "You have my ear, citizen.", I cannot help but think, "Oh, that?
