Oblivion Patch?

Hey, is it just me, or does this patch make the game brighter??

I mean, before i downloaded and installed it, the game's ruins and caves and such were perfectly dark, gloomy, dismal, perfect ambience for a dungeon-dive.

The thing is, is that no mattter how low i turn the brightness level, it is STILL bright. I mean, i can't even see shadows in the ruins and caves, so i have no idea where a shadow would be.

Also, towns. At night, aren't they supposed to be dark? I am in Cheydinall, doing some quests for the DB, and the town isn't a bit dark, i don't know where to hide, so i have to cast constant invisible..

I mean, that quest where you have to break into the Imperial Dungeon? Child's Play. Wasn;t seen by anyone, including the doomed man. But the damn dungeon was so bright, it was a mirracle i could walk by Baraus and the other guy, and not be seen, then again, i was invisible, but since i wasn't see-through, i can never be quite sure..

I seemed to have more of a contrast problem, after I patched my game, but its for sure more a problem with my ancient screen.

Have you tried fiddling with your screens osd settings? Also check the brightness slider on the in game menu. I adjust mine for day or night gaming because I have sunpatches on the walls that gives me lots of glare...I can sometimes use my screen as a mirror...

A mirror huh.. is that a good thing or a bad thing? ;-)

Lol.. Contrast doesn't help. nor do the sliders. I could have it on the lowest, and my game would look like crap..
