cabledevin
I was wanting to merge together a whole bunch of mods into a single ESP, and I was wondering if I had to write to each of the mod's respective owners and ask for permission first. Would I still need to do this even if I gave them credit in the description & readme?
TehBuddha
It depends what they said in their mods readme. If it said you could use it without permissions, but you have to give credit, then yes. You can use it without emailing them. If not, youll have to ask them for their permission
Dark0ne
If you were wanting to upload it to one of the Nexus sites then I'm afraid we don't accept modpacks/compilations.

And secondly, that's okay, I may then just do it elsewhere.
ub3rman123
Well, he is the site administrator. I'm pretty certain he knows the rules.

First: its Dark0ne and your asking him if hes sure about something related to the nexus... thats like asking Da Vinci if he knows what paint is.... Second: I'm going to take a guess and say your referring to mods that rely on certain other mods to function that have been bundled together, this is a rare occurrence and the originating mods authors have given express consent to do so. This is usually considered unprofessional due to the fact you should just link to there download under the "required" section... unless done only in the event the required mod's download is not easily available on the net its always typically a bad idea... This of course excludes modders resources which have been made available to the public, or meshes/textures from existing mods as long as you have the authors consent. If you want to make a merged esp to lighten your LO keep it to yourself for personal use... Make sure you merge the plugins in the proper load order to avoid conflicts... Be advised though never to merge any large plugins due to how hard it is to manage LO when using custom made esp's. Only merged "modpack" i use is stand alone armor/clothing/weapon mods that I'm 110% sure are not going to cause LO conflicts later down the line.
