Okay, here's the situation:

I have Oblivion for the xbox, and Fallout 3 for the computer. I don't have/really want any Fallout 3 mods, but for some reason I keep on getting attracted to Oblivion mods. I like the game, I just feel like it get's a bit boring with the standard stuff you get, so I do see the purpose in getting the game then. And I do have the money to purchase it, but I don't think I'm going to play it as much as I want to. So if you guys could please answer in the poll, that would be awesome.

Oblivions well worth the money. I didn't expect Oblivion to capture me quite as much as it did. But with all of the mods around, it has lasted(and still is lasting) me well over a year. It's a terrific investment, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

However, I'd warn against mentioning torrenting in the poll.

Buy it. You've already played it on xbox, but with mods on, it can become a whole different game, extending its replay value.

Besides, if you torrent it, you will no longer be welcome on this site and will lose access to all those mods.

Do the right thing and enjoy your modded Oblivion.

We not only do not support pirated games here, we ban pirates. If you want to buy the game used, I have seen copies for less than US $5 on line from legitimate dealers. If you torrent it - expect to be banned.

Stealing games through torrents is still stealing. Plus you never know what you will really get. Do you expect a thief to be honest about what they really try to get you to download? Many (not all) pirated games are incomplete, corrupted, contain stuff other than just the game from the uploaders system (sometimes an unwitting virus) Often have problems that make playing with mods difficult if not impossible.

Then there are those few torrents that are not what they claim to be but are a scam to get you to download a virus or other malware. Torrents do have legitimate uses, stealing games is not one of them.

Oblivion on a PC is a much better game than on a console. And with mods even better. It can be a completely different game. If you liked it on your xbox you will love it on a PC. However it will not run well on a cheap system.

If you have the money and you feel drawn to Oblivion mods so strongly, then buy Oblivion. Believe me, modded Oblivion surpasses the vanilla game in every way.<br>On a second note: if I were you, I would remove the Torrenting part from your poll A.S.A.P., the moderators on this site have a zero-tolerance policy against anything involving piracy (and no, even though you own the Xbox version of Oblivion,it is still illegal to download it. So you should respect the law and the wishes of the site owner to stay out of legal troubles, and refrain from mentioning even the possibility of pirating the game).

Well, bben said it better than I ever could. I'd never support getting a game through a torrent. Not only is it stealing and so both illegal and unethical, but it also prevents Bethesda from getting compensated for their work. The more people steal the game through torrents or other means, the less incentive there is for Bethesda to put effort towards TESV and other future endeavors.

I'd highly recommend buying Oblivion for PC even though you already have it for Xbox. I have it for both PC and PS3, and have never regretted it. The various mods I have for the PC version have added over 400 hours of playtime to my current character, and I've even got into the modding scene a bit myself (as you can see below). You won't hardly find a better $25 game investment.

(Edit: While I was typing this post somebody voted for the "torrent it" option. For shame!)

I hate Steam. Although, voted for "Purchase Oblivion for $25 on steam".

I think $25 is too expensive, I've purchased Collector's edition for that price (700 rubles), while Gold Edition for 15$ (400 rubles).

Where did you get your collectors edition? Also for $25 it comes with all the DLCs. And sorry about the torrent thing, my friend was at my house when I was writing this and he wouldn't shut up about how I should torrent it, so to put him to rest so I could go to sleep, I wrote that part in. I personally don't like torrenting, especially after seeing multiple stupid friends get their computer wrecked.

I played it on the 360 originally. I fell in love with it, and found the GOTY edition new at Gamestop for only $19.99! It's lovely, even came with a map of the shivering isles. I keep it in my room. :3

Hard copies are the way to go if you want the least hassle with installing, and more room on your hard drive. Well worth the money.

Crap, already bought it for 25 on steam. Whatever, I love CDs a lot, and at least steam ensures I will have the game forever. Just wondering, will mods end up going screwy if I run 2 mods that have the items in the chest in the very beginning of the game?
