CommanderCrazy
If you buy a game, with your money, then use a crack (Say, to bypass steam for example), would you guys call it piracy? Thanks.
Pushkatu
Yes, that's how we would call it. Only the word crack should be enough to tell you that you're doing something wrong. I advise you not to use such things and if you do, than don't even think about comming here asking for help, becouse you will most likely be banned. I'm sure however that you won't do such things.
CommanderCrazy
Personally, I only do it very rarely (The keyword being rarely) to get past a DRM, that is so game breakingly horrible, that I can't even access the main menu.(Assassins creed 2, even though I have a good enough connection & a ubisoft account, but I dont think you need one anyway.) But, should a problem arise, I wouldn't ask for help, I would restore a backup & try to live with it.

Dark0ne
Personally if you come on and say "I purchased the game and then applied a NO-CD crack to protect my disc" you should be fine. Unfortunately people just come on and say things like "I just cracked my game can you help pls?". We'll never help with finding cracks for people. AlienSlof
They've also been used simply so you can preserve your game disks from wear and tear. They can in some cases speed up a game that would otherwise be slowed while a disk spins up. I always buy my games, but then use cracks to preserve my disks in their orignal pristine condition. I also did the same thing with Assassin's Creed II - the DRM on that was just ridiculous.
KaotikKreator
This is a very useful topic. It's also been bugging me for a while, but I've been afraid to even PM a moderator with the question. I dearly love the Nexus sites, and would hate to ever lose access to them. So, I'll provide thanks:CommanderCrazy, for having the courage where I didn't to ask the question,Dark0ne, for the explanation of how to use the English language properly, so no one gets the wrong idea about what you're doing, andAlienSlof, for showing me that I'm not the only one who cares that much about his game disks. Thanks to everyone!
Vagrant0
Just one word, using a game crack of any kind is not generally suggested just because you never know who the version came from nor its safety.
DeadMansFist849
Yeah, it's not smart. It could make it impossible to use things like OBSE and mods, for one thing. For another, what appears to be a crack could very well be a virus.

Well, I know one thing, mods and script extenders work fine, but you should always virus check just about everything that you download. (Less need for trusted items, naturally) To Vagrant: That's why you should create a backup befor you change pretty much anything  To Kaotik: Your sig is basically a representation of me trying to use steam. So, therefore, I will (attempt to) crack New Vegas so I can still use my head later :teehee:
