Help diagnose: slow image loading times

This is typically what I get at any time of the day or any day of the week. My internet connection runs around 4.5 mb/s through comcast. Makes it difficult to choose a mod to download when you can't see the pictures to judge what it looks like and whether or not you want to download or not. This happens on all nexus mod sites for me, not just fallout 3. I've also tried loading it in different browsers. Opera, IE, and Firefox being the three I've tried with.

If you've been seeing that non-stop for a long time then something is blocking you from accessing our static image servers and this is unrelated to the issue in the OP. It sounds like it's a DNS issue, as though your DNS servers haven't updated to point to the right IP. For example, if you go to http://static-1.nexusmods.com/ you should see a white page with the text "Nexus Static Server" on it. If you don't see that, something is wrong.

I get an error "Could not connect to remote server" message when I click on that link. If the problem is on my end I would love to hear some suggestions on wht I can do to try and solve it. I'm on east coast of U.S. and using a static DNS address of 209-244-0-3 right now.

I switched over to googles after I posted my last reply, but it didn't help any. I'm at a loss on this myself. I have a list of several top level DNS agents and using any of them doesn't seem to help my problem. I do run in to some sites that load slower than others but this is the only one I visit that hardly ever finishes loading images on. Everything else works great, the forums, downloading, everything but images. I'm even getting email notifications from the site through yahoo mail.

I seem to have finally solved my problem. I had some issues with my modem and after clearing it and resetting everything on it and flushing my pc I seem to have fixed the issue. Thank you jim_uk for the suggestions. I'm glad I got this solved, I really love this site. There truly is no better place on the net for bethesda mods and hopefully soon for any and all games.

First of all thank you very much for a great site. I spend way too much time here.

My results:

1. All servers was quick, less than 2 sec

2. I have 100mbit/s download and 5 mbit/s upload.

3. I live in Norway and is premium user for life

I have problems with viewing pictures on skyrim nexus.

The mod pages load quickly, files take like 5 sec to start download after pressing DL links and download speed is ok. But opening pictures for viewing often take between 3-6 sec. So there is potential to make it easier and less frustrating to look at pictures.

Anyway, keep up the good work

I'd like to report that while I once experienced slow loading times, this had more or less stopped for me. Today and yesterday, however, I've noticed extreme slowness again. I do access the Nexus to look at the hotfiles daily, so I likely would have noticed it happening before. I use the site several times a day, at various times, including morning, afternoon, and evening. At the moment images are loading extremely slowly for me, as they had approximately two years ago. In the intervening time images would usually load quite quickly, with the odd image taking significantly longer.

Static 1: 42 seconds to load completely

Static 2: 5 seconds to load completely

Static 3: 47 seconds to load completely

Static 4: 14 seconds to load completely

2 and 4 had a large strip loaded as soon as I accessed them, but took several seconds to load the rest. 1 and 4 took a very long time to load, the image appearing slowly in strips from top to bottom.

http://www.speedtest.net/result/4780563372.png - download speed 14.76mb/s, upload speed 3.99mb/s

I am based in the UK.
