kvnchrist
Ok. Let me be the first to say the present administration has just lost every bit of sympathy I can muster here. I don't care how rediculious George Bush was I don't think he had ever actively worked against the image of America the way this president did when he failed to show up in France. I've heard every spin I can from those whose job it is to suport this clown and nothing anyone has said has come anywhere even close to being an excuse, let alone a reason for such a callus act of inconcern. I remember when The Dixie Chicks said they were achamed of George Bush and I support their right to speak their minds. I now say I am ashamed of Barack Obama. I'm not happy about it and I'm not pleased with seeing him in this way but I'm saddened that we as a country have a leader who could wave away the wounds of a country who's president, after 9/11 was the first one to show concern for us. I know there are people everywhere who for political or ideological reasons will always defind those within their party and I'm sorry If I've upset anyone here with those veiws, but The President represents everyone and everything that America has in the world and he did not represent me when he dismissed such an event as if it were a dog grooming. JimboUK
I expect no better from that self obsessed thing sitting in the White House.
Aurielius
If our fearless leader showed up for the Paris march then he would have to deal with the disconnect between his portrayal of the War on Terror and it's realities.Hmm.."Al Qaeda is decimated and on the run"- Obama's speeches of 2012. What is indefensible is that AG Holder was already in Paris and couldn't cross town to attend.Obama is the best campaigner I've ever seen and the worst president in my lifetime. It's too bad that there is more to the job than running for it, something that has yet to sink in at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave even after six years in office. HeyYou
Well, should obama go to every country where there is a terrorist attack? He wouldn't have time to do anything else. Did france send folks to the US after 9/11? Holder being right in the neighborhood, and not at least making a token appearance is pretty bad though..... edgeburner
All of the token gestures postured by government officials over the years aside, He (O'bama) had a chance to show a conviction to something that really matters, but, he wavered, as usual. The man (and many of his ilk) simply cannot put the words "Islamic" and "terrorist" next to each other in a sentence.
kvnchrist
I don't care about his ideology. If he wants to stand on his own priciples then let him. History will judge him with the same harshness as it did the rest of the presidents, but this is far more personal and I think it shows in stark colors the cold calusness of indiferance, which he has displyed so many times in the past.. Maybe he has changed. Maybe he is burnt out on the office, but if he is he should step aside an go into retirment. I'm sure more than one president has thought about doing so. edgeburner
I don't care about his ideology. If he wants to stand on his own priciples then let him. I do....If he governs according to them. His job is not to stand on his own principals, but, to do whats best for the nation. Whether he agrees with a principle or not. He is a prime example of why idealouges don't make good leaders. kvnchrist
Those who voted for him didn't vote because of the content of his character, but the words that held meaning, seemingly only to the listener. When you pick your leaders as if you were participating in a scavenger hunt, this is what you get. The problem is not with the president anyway. It is with those who refuse to scrutinize their leaders with the same severity as they do their opposition. He is being who he is and that is his right. When you find someone who those around him are falling off like flies you really need to take a good look at the person, but what have you heard from those who still cling to him. Absolutely nothing, because they are too concentrated with their mental images of the opposition. He is where the majority of voters placed him and they too were not looking towards anything more than the corrections they think were important and the ones he said he could deliver. Taking care of the country is not a priority, since this is not the country he wants.
