Hardcore Gememode Reward

I'm curious as to what the reward was too. Didn't notice anything after completion, but that may be because I had to use console as well to get around some bugs, testing mods, and even tcl-ing out of a stuck spot once.

i been playing it on hardcore and i wanna know too.

well since the game ends after you beat the game on hardcore mode and you have to start an entirely new game, seems kinda hard for them to give you anything for your efforts. other than an achievement on your steam profile.

 

maybe when we get the dlc that expands the end game some way maybe they will add in some special item that you can use for the dlc off your hardcore save. way it seems now you could probably beat the game 5 or 10 times on hardcore mode doing everything in game until we get some dlc for pc at lest.

I beat the game in hardore last night and got the achievement. Promptly started up a new character, in hardcore because it was more fun. Noticed that my FOD SLP H20 stats never incresae, always staying at 0. Already finished goodsprings and primm with no increse in hunger, etc... I thought maybe that's the "special reward", if so really disapponting because the eating, drinking sleeping was most of the fun of harcore.

Sounds like a punishment rather than a perk. If I wanted that I wouldn't play hardcore in the first place.

true .. I had the same problem with the vault canteen at first.. it removed the need to ever get water on hardcore because it never ran dry

Actually it does seem to run dry after awhile, it refills when you drink from a water source. But I do agree with your point, it is a bit of a cheat.

Well, I just searched the .esm file for any code relating to "Hardcore" mode, and I could only find this stage stuff (that also triggers the Endings):

AddAchievement 30
endif

 

Note that "behemoth" is an alias for the "IsAlwaysHardcore" method. So, yeah. You literally only get the achievement.

In that case, my new playthrough must be bugged. I'm not very far, so i'll start another. But as someone said up above, I could swear i saw in in some developer notes or the ingame description or somewhere something about a reward in addition to the achievement.
