So skyrim gave you the ablity to steal something equipped.

a bit cheesy. yeah

But I am telvanni, and Divath Fyr said something (may be LGNPC added

"Living creatures, if nothing else, have the right to life. Their only truly precious possession. It should not be taken from them without cause."

he and aryon are my role models so far.

I have 3 quests to just walk up and taunt someone to fight to die. That is so...not elegant.

And I don't like dratha, neloth, or therana.

But am telvanni. I want to make friends. And I take what I want. But I can't charm these 3 NPCs into giving item? can't steal it?

I have sneak 100, I can get chamelion to 100. I am willing to wait, talk, charm. It sucks that in the vanilla game I can't steal/finagle the amulet, robe, and bow they want.

I am just not going to do the quests. But I was hoping some mod would allow me to steal or charm my way to get those items.

I think it may have been Morrowind Comes Alive that adds the ability to trade with any NPC, and/or get them to join you as companions, as long as their disposition toward you is high enough. I got the dress from Senise that way.

@cacothes thanks for the mod suggestion. that looks like a great mod. I am not sure I want to add 1200 npcs right now. But I will probably try it on a different play through. my game is mostly stable, and I am a bit scared to add a mod that big this late in my playthrough. I am a wimp.

@dragon, that mod looks good. I did not see, in the description, the concept of companion share but I have downloaded it to check it out.

thank you both.

Maybe it's my bad memory, but I SWEAR before Bethesda Patched Morrowind way back in 2003, that you could originally knock out NPCs in a fistfight and take all their stuff, and/or replace their clothes by taking a male NPCs pants and slipping a dress into his inventory,

I remember having a couple of males walking around in dresses, or am I thinking of a different game?

Because I definitely remember knocking out NPCs and placing dresses on them\

At the very least, I wish there was a mod like the mod for Oblivion called "Muffinshare", where you can "pickpocket" the NPCs clothes and items.

It makes for a fun time in the boring old Imperial City

Context:

Mugging, bring it back

Mods mentioned:

Mug Fix by Reznod

NPC Enhanced by Horatio. NPC Enhanced MWSE Patch by cdcooley, if you don't use MWE.

Finally, the Morrowind Code Patch (not mentioned):

Allow stealing from KOed NPCs

This patch allows you to steal from NPCs that have been knocked out. Previously you would get a 'You are in combat' message when you activated them.

This may also allow you to talk to some hostile NPCs, if you manage to sneak up on them before they start beating on you. Not an intended feature, but interesting. It does not affect how NPCs become aware of you otherwise.

Of them all, I'd recommend grabbing MCP from here on Nexus.

I use MCP, and there are only certain items you can steal from an unconscious NPC, and it seems kind of random at times.

Once I was able to take a dagger from one of the Dark Brotherhood that was attacking me, (However, everybody in the Inn started attacking me as well, because it was reported as a crime), love how they completely ignored the assassin trying to kill me, another time it was Kwama Eggs from the Kwama Egg Poachers quest, but only their weapons AFTER I had killed them
