so does shouts affect it by chance?

 

The ones that deal physical damage should do such as fire breath or whatever it's called.

 

 

Should have a sound effect when it breaks. Maybe customizable number of hits.

 

Regarding barrels with hundreds/thousands of items, you can just have it drop a pouch on the floor. We're already assuming it's magic that a barrel can hold so many items why not a pouch. And/or you could set it to only do this if the container has >x amount of items.

 

Yeah I need to come up with some suitable sound effects. I might just have the player be able to salvage items by interacting with the destroyed object debris but yeah failing that I'll probably use a pouch or something.

 

 

If he's using the Destrcutible object system, then you can't customize the amount of hits via script AFAIK. Haven't seen SKSE or vanilla function for it.

Sound effect can be done with a default script attached to each.

 

The number of hits required is determined by the health value assigned in the destruction data. Higher damage weapons and spells will mean less hits required. The sound effects can be triggered via script although I have been using the destruction explosion sound for testing which requires no scripts and is easier. The explosion I have set is invisible and only used as a very slight force to blast apart the debris.

it doesn't seem like it. You can damage objects via script and reset the destruction but I can't find any functions that directly set the current or maximum health.

question: how to find and replace items with one click? I've been working on replacing all of the static barrels and crates, but have been going through every cell using the find and replace feature. are you saying that with one ctrl+f I can replace every static barrel in all of the worlds and all interiors at same time???

 

omg! just did a search and found it! thank you thank you thank you for mentioning this, otherwise I would have never known (to un-check all the boxes)!!!!!

This is really amazing and brings the whole game up a notch - was *really* hoping someone would add this. My thanks.

 

As far as contents of a container... well, in a "real life" scenario, if one were to destroy a barrel, it should be expected the contents of the barrel would get partially or completely destroyed as well. So, using this reality as a guide, the script could select, based on some set of conditions, a subset of the container's contents; limiting the number of items to some workable maximum - then obliterate the rest (maybe as one chunk of scrap metal useful for forging.

 

Unique items would have to survive, as well as quest items and keys, of course. But enchanted items could go, as well as large portions of food or potion items. Might be that the maximum could be under four.

 

Just blue-skying here, but maybe one or two enchanted items that were in the container could survive as "Smashed Staff of Sparks" and be repairable (somehow).

Man, Jesus, you are talented as hell. Could you make a mod that allows you to use the Soul Cairn portal to go to other Oblivion realms and kill high level monsters?

 

Or perhaps one that allows you to desecrate Daedric statues, which will make their Champions chase after you throughout Skyrim?

Or perhaps one that allows you to desecrate Daedric statues, which will make their Champions chase after you throughout Skyrim?

Thanks everyone. I just wish I had more time to work on it. It's kind of a tedious process though as each object can take hours with lots of filling in values in NifSkope.

Yeah some nice ideas, we will just have to see what works best.

Well that's nice of you to say but mods no matter how small take a lot of effort and I don't have time. Also you need to consider that each modder has their specialities (scripter, dungeon designer, 3D modeller/texturer etc.).

Well that's nice of you to say but mods no matter how small take a lot of effort and I don't have time. Also you need to consider that each modder has their specialities (scripter, dungeon designer, 3D modeller/texturer etc.).

You might be able to automate the process using NifUtilsSuite. I know MannyGT created a plugin it for it that automated the collision adding process, perhaps you could ask him how you might make one for your purposes?
