It actually fixes some important stuff. It's mostly fixes. Yeah, there's the new texture/mod problem. There's a few mobs becoming essentials, but I'd rather deal with that than my saved games getting wiped or quests getting glitched and not be able to complete them. Personally, I say install it. If you do, check my guide on the load order of your .ini files so you can have a relatively smooth transition. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/261613-patch-broke-your-texturesmods/ As for the mobs, if your tech savvy enough fix it with FNVedit, or wait for a mod/patch. TomJetland
Has anyone else had problems with music stuttering when alt+tab out of the program with the new patch? Yes. Newbie here so take this info accordingly, but before the Steam-pushed patch, I was able to Alt-Tab to the desktop with NO problems whatsoever with the sound. It always cut-off, but would pick back up when I went back into the game. Post patch, the sound doesn't stop when going back out to the desktop and stutters as you describe. As an aside, I had almost NO problems with hard crashes before this patch. I would always get 1 or 2, Fallout NV has stopped working per play session (maybe 3-5 hours) but at least I could Ctrl-Alt-Del out and get back to the desktop. Now, post patch, the game has become almost unplayable and the soft crashes have been replaced with hard ones, i.e, black screen, music playing in the background, have to push power button to restart the computer). I wish I had turned off the auto-update feature, but being a standalone PC player, I really didn't (and don't) have much experience with Steam. I had this exact same crash problem with Fallout 3 so when it didn't occur when I first installed Fallout NV I was ecstatic. I am really bummed that I am sure allowing this patch has messed everything up. :( A few specs: Win Vista 32-bit, Nvidia 9600 GT w/ latest drivers, plenty of RAM

ita
I'm a bit confused about this latest patch, supposedly named 1.1.1. Does it change the version number shown in-game to 1.1.1? I have the boxed DVD release and although Steam has updated it a few times, the version number both in-game and in the .exe says 1.2.0.825. Talyna23
Funny...It seems that all the bugs, they wanted to fix, and I didn't encounter, now after the "fix" appeared in my game...I would try to repatch, but can't find an option in steam, where I could turn off the autopatch function...BTW, CTD's happen more often since the patch...I encounter even bluescreens. Didn't happen for years...

And the bonus is that i never had any problems with the sound until i installed the latest patch. Now after a bit playing ppl have no sound etc.
