Kutt
This is absolutely a true story, and I'm sure that priest eventually felt awful that he didn't allow baby fuhrer to drown. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2082640/How-year-old-Adolf-Hitler-saved-certain-death--drowning-icy-river-rescued.html

Vagrant0
That's the problem with people these days... Always going on and on about Hitler, and yet nobody wants to be the new Hitler for everyone to look up to.
BlueDanube
true , but can you live the rest of your life knowing that you let a 4yo drown to death ? he do the right thing, regardless what will happen with the boy in the future.

Maharg67
The priest did the right thing for there was always a chance that Hitler might not have become the monster that he did later. It was not the doing of the priest, the saving of young Adolph Hitler, that caused the rise of a monstrous leader. The other point is that does any individual have the right to make such choices? Hitler made many mistakes as a leader of Nazi Germany, causing damage to the Nazi German war effort; if young Hitler had died perhaps somebody smarter would have ended up taking over. PS: it was said by somebody working high up in a British program, to assassinate Hitler, that he was concerned if they managed to kill Hitler that he would be replaced by 'somebody who knew what they were doing'.
