Immersive Quests [WIP]

As you may know from my other post, a few new roles opened up on the Immersive Quests team. They are:

  • Writer
  • Audio Engineer
  • 3D and 2D Artist

All roles require a certain amount of time to be dedicated to them. I'm lenient about RL - I totally get it. But the work needs to be done within a respectable amount of time so the mod doesn't suffer too many setbacks.
So, if you're interested in applying, please read the following specifications and details on what each role is/does:

Writer
As a writer, you'll be writing plots for quests, characters, and dialogue. You may have to take an idea for a quest and run with it, fleshing it out and making dialogue for it. More often than not, you'll be writing your own ideas. You'll have to be flexible with what may or may not be possible and within the constraints of the mod. For example, a quest that will take 15 new dungeons and 3 sets of custom armor just isn't a good use of resources. Or a quest that is larger than the entirety of Skyrim's Civil War, lackluster as that may have been. You'll be expected to write quests withcompelling stories and characters, and dialogue that fits. You are required to have a good grasp of the English language - grammar and spelling are important. I'm not going to eat you if you have a few typos, but I just don't have the time or inclination to go through stories fixing typos and mistakes as I implement them in the Creation Kit.
You will need to be able to write/use a software that allows me, as the implementer, to easily put your quest and dialogue into the game without too much back and forth. I've got methods for this, but if you bring another idea or two to the table that's great.

Audio Engineer

An audio engineer will NOT be creating sounds for the mod, but will be editing sound - primarily and ALMOST exclusively voice files. I recruit voice actors with a relatively high quality standard, but not all recordings are recorded equal, and we need to maintain consistency across the board when it comes to voice. You'll be expected to clean up recordings of things like background noise, mic rumbles, pops, etc. Like said, I won't be bombarding you with recordings that were recorded on a phone or a headset, but only a few of the voice actors have professional studios and equipment. There will be some things that need to be cleaned up, and you'll have to do that.
I also need consistency to be maintained, as I mentioned previously. You'll need to make sure all of the sound files have a generally consistent level of sound and noise, and one that is pretty close to vanilla Skyrim's level. Some recordings will ONLY require a tweak to volume, but some will require more.

There are a LOT of recordings that the previous audio engineer wasn't able to get to before he left. I mean hundreds of lines - lines for IQ come in abundance. However, the majority of them ONLY require tweaking of volume (normalization?), and you'll have around a month or more to wrap these recordings up before I get my computer back and begin to send more recordings that will need to be cleaned.

3D/2D Artist
I've been through a fair amount of these, unfortunately. A lot of great modelers and texturers who just got pulled away by work and RL. I'll be toning down the amount of custom assets needed, but IQ will need custom models + textures for those models. Sometimes, I'll use resources or pull in a favor/friend who'll help me out with a model (Vaermina's Dress, credit to AlpineYJ and team, Shadowfang's concept or Heirloom Blade, credit to Matth86, Acr0ssTh3P0nd's concept) but it's great to have a 3D/2D artist on hand who can create what is needed on hand.
You'll need to create a variety of things - primarily weapons and some misc items. Occasionally some environmental things like statues or other props. Armor sets and creatures would be a rarity but a possibility - but if you aren't able to do either, I could find someone who's able. They're just a bonus. Modeling, texturing, and the ABILITY TO CONVERT TO A SKYRIM-USABLE .NIF on your own is required.

If you're interested in any of the above, please tell me below and submit a link to a sample of your work.
Writers, this could be a quest idea, note, book, etc. It's great if dialogue is included but not necessary. For dialogue ordering, I highly recommend the use of Numbered Lists if you don't know how to order it. This allows you to show choices and where they progress. Bold for the player speaking, otherwise prefixed with the name of the char speaking.

Audio engineers should provide a sample of a before/after of some sort of sound file - without cleaning, and with. Voice file is best, but not necessary. If you can't find a specific voice file, just try your hand at this one and say that you used the default voice sample and then link to the cleaned one you've done.
3D modelers/2D artists, please provide a link to a picture or video of a model(s) you've done. At least one of the model(s) should have a texture so I can see your texture work. You also need to confirm that you can export to a Skyrim-usable .NIF on your own - just tell me that you can. I'll find out at some point whether or not you can.
Thank you all for continued support of my project, as well as any applications you have! I'll only be accepting one person for each position at this time, and I'll evaluate the applications and choose within several days.

I'd be happy to do some writing for you. Also hello! - you helped answer some questions I had for my own mod. Here is a recent example of some re-imagining lore I wrote up as a background to my own mod. Take a look and see if you'd be interested. Keep in mind, this is in the context of holy scripture, so it doesn't use the most fluent language or story-telling. I just love to write, and it is RARELY considered work for me. I could do it all the time, so if you need a lover of lore, and decent story teller, let me know.

This is a txt version, I have easier to read versions if you have MSO or Open Office. And this is a first edition. I am bound to make changes later. This is also the first portion, second portion is a WIP with the re-imagined Anuad to follow.

First Apocrypha.txt

Would you mind writing up a quick sample of some dialogue just so I can check it out?

How close is this project to completion? Not sure how long a shelf life the word "Immersion" has, but it's only a matter of time until it becomes as old as beautiful doll like followers. I mean no one are downloading those anymore are they..? (Joke)

Btw here's a little idea I thought up:

An indoor fireplace that is completely immersive.

You could call it "Immersion Heaters"

Joke note: you probably need to be British and born pre 1980s to get that joke.

I'll be putting up an FAQ in the OP soon, but:

I'll be working hard on it this summer and some of spring, once I get my PC back. Beyond Skyrim: Bruma preoccupies some of my time but not all of it. Summer is when I'll have the most time to work on this project. Regardless of how many quests there are, I will be releasing this at the end of summer. (First release) Meaning that I will wrap up the latest quest I'm working on at that point and whatever loose ends there may be, and then will release it. Hopefully it's more than 1 quest, which it should be given we ALREADY have more than that, but that's w hen it will be released.
