Can a heavy armor character...

My suggestion...wear whatever armor you want but carry a pair of low weight shoes or leather boots. You can toggle them on and off to suit the situation. As was stated before, once you get to higher levels of sneak, it doesn't matter what kind of boots you wear.

It's really only game breaking if you can get it to persist for a long time. Most vanilla invisibility spells don't last more than 60 seconds. Now, chameleon, if you can get 100% with that, you don't even have to sneak.

If your magicka restores to full before the effect ends then it pretty much is persistent. I find chameleon superfluous really because after expert in illusion Deathly Visage (from Maraaj Dar) becomes a spell that you can recast well before the effect ends, making it "permanent" for all intent and purposes. Even OOO and FCOM aren't immune to this haha.

Sure you can survive in the Thieves Guild with heavy armor! All you need is to enchant your armor with chameleon adding up to 100%.

I used a "stealth suit" made out of 100% chameleon enchanted mithril armor and omg did things become boring. You can stand in front of some and punch them in the face over and over and they don't even look for you.

One word, Invisibility. Man that spell breaks the game.

Jone's Shadow?

Invisibility is perfect for SIGHT but NPC's also detect on SOUND. Even if they can't SEE you then they can hear you.

Aye, but they can't do anything about it. They'll keep saying that they'll get you then blame their compatriots' deaths on the wind when you leave. They can't attack you if you're invisible.

Invisibility isn't overpowered at all... the second you do something (besides something in your inventory or move) the effect breaks. Chameleon is though. I remember running around a conjurer having a lot of laughs because I punched his face and he kept falling over... good times good times.... but anyways, I survived the Thieves Guild with heavy armor, and I use the Stealth Overhaul (its actually called that lol) on here.

If you run around all over closing Oblivion Gates you can find a few 30% (I think) Chameleon effect Transcendent Sigil stones. Throw four of those on and you'll be permanently invisible, but able to attack, pick stuff up, etc. Also, when you raise Sneak high enough, isn't there a point when the boots you wear doesn't affect NPCs' detection of you?

Maybe I should record footage of me running around everywhere invisible and hitting people in the back with a sneak attack, which they don't turn around at and then you can just hit them again and again until they die. Chameleon is overpowered if you have 100% but you can do much of the same with invisibility and a journeyman sneak skill. Also to the user that says NPCs detect sound, not on vanilla or even with FCOM so I don't know what game you're playing but I can run around npcs jumping all over the place but they don't detect me while I'm invisible.

Edit: Wait, I think I know what you're talking about, you mean when you break your invisibility and get detected but recast the spell right? That's probably what you meant in hindsight and that's a really annoying oversight with the A.I. But regardless they'll stop detecting you eventually and if you can keep casting the invisibility spell its little more than an annoyance.
