You certainly do! But you have to remember, some people don't care about anyone else's voice but their own... :/

"This used to be free and fun". And what contributions have you made to the modding community?

Also, it was never free. Hosting files and allowing traffic to and from has a very real cost associated with it. If you don't like the price you have to pay (seeing an ad or two or seeing an option to go premium), don't pay it. See if you can find a community that allows file hosting/download with no cost that you can contribute nothing to. There isn't one. Which is why you'll stay here and continue to whine.

You've offered nothing of substance to the discussion. Your main complaints are that, although facts have been laid out, the author is still trying to deceive the community. You've also inferred the author has called you stupid twice, which is objectively false.

You do have a voice. An equal voice and no mistake about it. Just right now with all the "Conspiracy Theories" running rampant about Robin (Dark0ne) it's hard to make a rational argument when most of the people you're trying to talk to are self-entitled kids.

@Reaper yeah that's becoming clear and clearer...and now i'm wondering with paid moding in the wild and the new of SkyUi 5 going pay couldi get the Woman World collaboration to take off (woman's world is a skyrim mod ive been trying to find voice actors for, its a massive mod that changes 1742 NPCs but lacks voices with the promise of income we might have a chance to really expand it with voices)

this is most amount of stupid i've ever seen in nexus. in just 48 hours people are rioting on internet forums, claiming the death of modding here, steam = hitler, PC gaming is dead and the streets are filled with gaming PC's lit on fire. the world is ending so we can play fallout 4 IRL.

well I'll see all you prophets of doomday back at nexus when fallout 4 drops

That was a very insightful read; and i am glad i read this.

I cannot imagine being in this type of situation and having those types of complicated circumstances arise, managing them as best a person can, and with little sleep.

I've been somewhat of a lurker on Nexus since 2008 and though i do not show as much support as i would like; i do very much see Nexus as my personal oasis of Mod content and i love it to death.

So after reading as much as i could read, i feel like i have a new-found respect and admiration for Nexus as a whole. Hang tough Dark0ne. :)

A thought just occurred to me, Dark0ne. The Nexus is offering, for free, a product that a gigantic mega-corporation with a huge desire to make money wants to sell.

To SELL.

That makes you their competition. The Nexus, simply by BEING THERE, devalues Steam's product (mods) and makes it worthless to them. How to revalue their product?

Remove the competition.

Oh, don't look at me like that, Nexus. Sure, it's a cynical thought...but this is a gigantic mega-corporation here with a DESIRE TO MAKE MONE AND PROFIT. Nothing is above Steam, nothing is beyond their reproach, no behavior is out of line for a corporation looking to make money. Paranoid thought, yes...but they're likely to be gunning for this site to disappear and soon. Be careful in all dealings with them.
