"We'll survive with or without you.

We'll also probably be a lot more cautious with our praise and endorsements. And with our trust. "

Of course you will, the community will survive without all those authors who felt slighted.

Like some of you have said. "Other will take their places"

There's one really big problem with with view IMO.

You still have their content. even if it's removed, it's still out, sitting on harddrives, and in data folders. Ready for you to enjoy next time you want.

I wonder, if NMM had a feature which detected and deleted mods removed by the author, if people would still be so bold as to say these things.

54 pages of absolutely glowing reviews by people. I trip skipped through every other page from Aug9, 2013 to today and the only things not a positive review were bug reports, general requests for help on compatibility and requests for item (all politely posed) because they loved your work.

Over 8k endorsements, 144k + unique DL's.

I get the feeling people love your work and let you know... overwhelmingly.

I want to say that, a modder should be paid for his work, but not like this.
Selling a mod at this time is wrong because it incomplete. The reason is there is no standard yet. A standard that people could base on to create their own mods. A standard that makes sure people won't ruin their game when using a mod. If you think people must pay for your mods, you also have the responsibility to guarantee that they are completely compatible with the mods people had paid. I tell you, such modder haven't exist yet.

@sunshinenbrick

No they are dealing with the massively dynamic world known as the human condition. It is not unique to any one community modding, twitter, facebook, youtube or your local PTA meeting.

WHAT, exactly looks worse? The mod is doing great.
Are you comparing numbers again?
It has 4.5 million downloads, that's f*#@ing huge, and I imagine if you go to the comment-section, the toxicity and hate is only received from the occasional troll, and even if there's only 15k comments I imagine most of those are showers of praise. 15k posts of praise is worth more than a single click of any kind of "Endorsement" button, and since you're comparing numbers, are you claiming that the remaining 4.485.000 people don't like Sky UI? Or are you saying they are ungrateful? On what basis?

You can keep pushing your statistics as definite proof all you like, but as I said earlier, they mean NOTHING, you seem to think they are definite numbers where those who fall outside it defaults to thinking "X". Well, I hate to burst your bubble(not really), but there's way too many variables to make a statement like yours and push it as factual evidence. Edited by SiniVII

@SiniVII: you are wrong. popularity is not the point.
People actually showing you they care is the point.

It's perfectly possible to have a mod with a very low popularity but a strong little community around it.
If nobody care, you do the stuff for yourself, then you let go. Edited by mcguffin

This community sickens me. I can't believe how much hate is being dished out, even to the modders that didn't participate in this. It makes me sick and you should all be ashamed. Modders don't have to even release their mods. They don't have to make them. And the moment you dish out hate toward a modder for whatever reason, you really don't have the right to download a mod, by anyone, ever again.

this is kind of priceless.
Yesterday we have people who didnt want to give money for mod.
Today we have people who dont even want to click an endorsement button to say yes.

Consumers at their greatest posture.

Priceless.
