Inkbat
I'll keep it short and to the point. I wanted to request a mod that limits your inventory to only carry 1 set of armor as well as 1 set of clothes. Doing this you'd have to decide on which set of gear you will be carrying on your journey and would also prevent you from changing gear midway through a fight. It would also prevent you from carrying multiple sets of heavy or light armor. So lets say you take a set of Iron armor for travel. You come across another set, but this time it's banded iron armor. You can't pick up this set unless you remove (animations would be nice) your current armor and store it somewhere. You can then pick up the banded iron armor and equip it, but if you try and pick up your old set you get a message saying you can only carry 1 set of armor. Anyone up to doing this? Or has it already been done. P.S. I am specifically requesting this feature because I believe it will prevent hoarding and also slow down wealth aquisition. Which is quite an issue for a Requiem playthough midway through.
Floordan
I second the inventory part -- I wouldn't mind it more elaborate though.-One set of armour at a time (One helmet, cuirass, pair of boots and pair of Gauntlets, Shield) -Two one handed weapons (Or two staves, mix and match) -One two-handed weapon OR a bow/crossbow (not both, that would be insanely cumbersome) -50 Arrows -20 Lockpicks -10 potions -5 poisons -10 scrolls I really like the concept, because you would have to really plan your journeys and make sure you left as prepared as you could. And then mods that allow alchemy and crafting on the fly (arrows and such) would be incredibly useful.
lofgren
I have actually made this mod already. But I abandoned it because I realized that sufficiently low carry weight basically made the hard limits unnecessary. My PC has about 100 carry weight at the beginning of the game and gets to about 250 near the end of the game, and I pay close attention to my encumbrance. I recommend one of the many mods that lower carry weight. A more complicated system will only accomplish about the same thing with very few advantages. Boombro
You can just not carry it?It like requesting a mod where you it stops you from using healing spells, you can just not.
Inkbat
The most crucial part of the mod would be to limit what you can carry (you cannot carry 5 sets of steel armor or 10 pelts of animal hides). Limiting carry weight has worked, but it does not stop you from storing items in followers or in chests along your travels.
Boombro
It still up to the player, it also makes followers and houses more useful.
lofgren
How would limiting you to a set number of items instead of a set weight prevent you from storing items in followers or chests? That makes no sense whatsoever.
lofgren
Also Boombro are you suggesting I should spend more time and effort on the tedious and annoying task of managing my inventory? I have mods installed that tell me when my character needs to sleep, eat, and do other tasks that I could expend effort managing myself. But I prefer to do the gaming and let the computer do the bookkeeping. It's one of the strengths that computer games have over PnP.
Floordan
Boombro, totally defeats the purpose of limitations. That's like saying "If I want 30 arrows, drop any others you find", but lets be honest, if you were to find a quiver with 35 arrows in it, you're not going to go into your inventory to drop 5 arrows, because they're useful and it's a waste of time opening the inventory to drop them when realistically they're a positive resource to have in the long run, and actively inconveniencing yourself at regular intervals by purposely getting rid of a positive resource is ridiculous. However, if I was forced to only have 30 max by a system in place, I would have to ration them and be a lot more resourceful in my play style. Lofgren, I actually do that too, start with about 100 carry weight, but the reason I find that not particularly great is because certain items weigh a disproportionately large amount compared to similar items, which seriously skews the system, and the idea of slots instead of weight just appeals to my style of play a lot more. If I was limited by those, then I would actually use chests. But what Inkbat is saying is make it so that people in general are limited by those slots, so that if you want to keep something you actually have to utilize the legitimate storage in your home and not keep 400 tonnes of equipment on your followers.
