huntsman2310a
There are no armor parts like boots or gloves in Skyrim, it is full sets all locked as one like in fallout 3, I hate this, and think it takes away a lot from the game, if I want to have glass boots and iron greaves I should be able to.Once again it is Bethesda nerfing the game, just like all the game co. out side Japan have been doing for the last 7 years. soon all "RPGs" will be on rails and all for the kinect, no inventory, no skills, no attributes, no open worlds, no nothing.Say goodbye to RPG's folks, (sigh) at least we will always have Morrowind. why would They get rid of boots and gloves if they stuck with it in the other elderscroll games? I think your're getting a bit paranoid....oh and glass boots look tacky Edited May 5, 2011 by huntsman2310a

razorpony
I didn't care so much about one-piece armor in the Fallout universe because there is no such thing as enchanting there. One-piece armor would place a severe limitation on enchantments as well as remove a number of body slots that could be used in modding custom armors. I can't believe that they would nerf everything that badly. I'm calling it a rumor until I see some concrete proof otherwise. Then again, they DID nerf the attributes... Razorpony
billyro
What happened to Morrowind's armour choices. There was cuirass, pauldron, gauntlet/bracer, greaves, boots and helmet. What happened to this, I loved the mix and match options that Morrowind had, it made every character you played feel unique just because they are wearing different patterns of clothing. If Skyrim was going to have less choices, do you think the cuirass will be joined with gauntlets or greaves?
runforitkyle
Gauntlets. But I would rather tear off my hands than simplify it to that.
InuyashaFE
I wonder about the armor that the dragonborn is wearing in the trailer and screenshots. Is it supposed to be the legendary armor of the dovhakiin, or just some random armorset in the game they thought looked good?
ub3rman123
I wonder about the armor that the dragonborn is wearing in the trailer and screenshots. Is it supposed to be the legendary armor of the dovhakiin, or just some random armorset in the game they thought looked good? Probably the latter. Champion's and stuff armor usually has more trimming. This looks like a generic barbarian style armor. Maybe fur.
AurianaValoria1
Alright...take a look at the differences between the Dovahkiin's armor here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SR-prerelease-2011-04-01-2.jpg and here: http://cdnstatic.bethsoft.com/akqacms/files/tes/wall_downloads/dragonborn_1600x1200.jpg They're both almost identical, yet the pauldrons are moved around. This makes me think we're back to separating pauldrons and individual gauntlets like in Morrowind. Granted, they look different enough to be two different sets...but they are an awful lot alike, too. Your thoughts? Edited May 9, 2011 by AurianaValoria1
InuyashaFE
They do look slightly different, the guantlets seem to be more like bracers, and the pauldron seems to be missing that hunk of metal on top in the screenshot. Then again, he seems to be wearing a different torso piece than the tunic. So, it may just be different armor with the same helmet.
sirchet
The impression I got from the latest interview posted on Bethesda's site is the game has been stream-lined in comparison to the previous adventures.
