nightinglae850
I love Serana but I never want her to follow me to Solstheim. I have requested a mod that makes her join the College of Winterhold after the questline is done, but nobody picked it up :( i always felt guilty dumping her with the Dawngaurd but i dont want followers. vram1974
I use a bunch of followers but I set them to non-essential so they can die. It makes the game more fun and you can mourn their loss when they finally die. Plus I play on the hardest settings in the game so I need a few meat shields. Followers seem especially essential when using Requiem.
AlexZander40
I like and use followers, but only a certain times. Most of the time I prefer to be solo. Early in game at low levels, followers can be helpful, especially with mods installed that make the game difficult. And I like to Smith all my followers their equipment, being that is my Character's main profession. I roleplay followers to be my defenders, spies and guardians of the different cities and villages around Skyrim. Because even the Dragonborn can only be handling business in one area at a time. So I place them all around Skyrim. I especially enjoy the NPCs from the Interesting NPCs mod.
thirteenisnotunlucky
Followers keep kill stealing me all the time so I don't use em. I don't really see the appeal.
jones177
My Skyrim is silly hard. Without a mage, tank, rouge & healer I can't even walk down a road. Since I use death alternative I end up in bleed out or unconscious at every other encounter. Only when a character gets to around level 60 do they venture out on their own & they always end up being creatures of stealth. For aiding me a follower gets a suit of armor & a place to live.Since the battles are so long & intense the ai of the followers go a bit nutty. Some walk away, some stay back or cringe with fear, some are just fine & some are ruined for the rest of the save. I need to replace them all the time. So I do lots of house building, home buying, ore mining & forging to keep it all going. So in my game going solo is a rite of passage only won by perseverance & by that time skyrim is full of followers going home, going to work & going to sleep. BlackRampage
I exclusively use followers that only use ranged attacks (bows and destruction magic, no expert level spells though), since they usually don't get in the way and don't charge enemies so I can go all out on them myself without followers getting in the way. I always tell them to wait outside whenever I go explore some dungeon though. They'll just get in the way otherwise.
Shivala
Depends. This playthrough is super social, so I have 3 followers : Amalee, Serana and Sophia. They won't shut up and I don't want them too, it's funny as hell. We also perform as bards thanks to "Become a bard." So fights are easy so I am slowly increasing the difficulty. The fun is interacting, hear the backstory and always fresh lines and just having a blast with the troupe. Which reminds me I should use the "Holidays" mod. ROFLMAO, ain't that the truth re Farkas. I *hate* going into that "Proving Honor" quest dungeon with him. Nothing worse than a a suicide charging aggro magnet from hell. :P
deRusett
I don't like followers, I like sneaking and sniping from a distance and scaling rock cliffs trying to not fall and die. followers aren't very good at that. Though I have considered trying to use followers on my current play through since I never have given them much of a chance.
Dhegonus
i usually use one or two, playing on legendary and having enemy spawn at 6x or 7x the vanilla amounts it becomes quite quite difficult to fight through dungeons when surrounded by 40-50 Draugr constantly, but that is the way i like to play :) Although i will never use the pretty faced waifus who use the vanilla voice types instead of using custom voice acting and wear a metal studded bikini and claim it as heavy armour whilst swinging a greatsword..
