Missing "vanilla" leather textures and odd outfit /skin texture issues- related?

Greetings from the Dallesse planetarium system! :laugh: yes... I AM A FREAK!

 

I gotz issues... heck- there's always some fire I'm trying to put out! Maybe you good folks can help!

 

1) I'm missing one or some of the vanilla textures from my game. How these files went missing- I have no idea. I learn by trial & error. Mostly the latter. :confused:

At first, I discovered (at some point :facepalm:) the "vanilla" leather textures went MISSING. No idea how to fix that, but I noticed that some mods depend on whatever went MISSING. (Or got deleted!) :ohdear:

Mods like ApachiiSky Hair- one of the hairstyles apparently SHOULD have had a headband that SHOULD have resembled LEATHER... not that ominous, lack-of-texture purple- YOU KNOW THE ONE! :wallbash:

Then some fur textures went missing! :rolleyes: How did I overcome these issues? With mods like the aMidianBorn Leather Armor High Res. Retexture mod, and fur/pelt replacers. That solved the immediate problem.

But then I discovered ANOTHER mod affected by the missing leather file! :pinch: Nikitaa's Bikinis for CBBE- ANOTHER mod subjected to the effects of a MISSING texture! What did I do????

I would just LOVE if someone could tell me how to get those missing vanilla textures back... without having to substitute real solutions with TEXTURE REPLACERS!!! :mad:

 

Then comes more issues... OMG! :nuke:

 

2) I downloaded newmiller's "Short Dress for CBBE" into my game... which he pulled off Nexus within a day's time, like so many other offerings by that author. (What's with that guy?) :ermm:

 

They were some pretty little outfits, but wearing them, incidentally, would cause bizarre, triangular cut-outs on the inside of either knee! So weird! Oh, but WAIT! It gets EVEN WEIRDER!!! :ohmy:

 

The leather armor texture replacer solved the leather armor-being purple-problem... but like I said- not ALL the leather issues were solved. :down:

The Leather Armor replacement mod was now revealing some of the SAME ISSUES that I THOUGHT were linked to newmiller's mod (Geeeez... thanx a LOT, buddy!) :dry:

The scary thing is... even after I disabled his "Short Dress" mod... women, like Delphine, who sport the leathers started showing up with the SAME DARN PROBLEM that newmiller created with his mod!!!

 

How the heck...!? So now I'm tempted to pull the leather retex mod- just to see if it turns purple again and/or if it makes those creepy triangles disappear. :confused:

 

Of course, I stripped the old gal to make sure it wasn't corrupting my beloved CBBE texture files. :blush: Lets let the pics do the talking for a moment... do you

So there's my 2-part problem (the fur issue seems to be solved... GOD BLESS GAMWICH!)

1) Missing textures

2) Damaged skin textures, in association with outfits.

3) Are they related???

 

I'll continue to seek solutions- real ones... and hope for answers. Let us pray. :facepalm:

 

ANY help solving these issues would be like a GODSEND to me!

In order to correct the missing textures from the vanilla game, go on steam and verify your game cache. Steam will check your files and replace any that are missing.

 

Hopefully, this will correct the mesh problem you are having.

Well... I did verify Skyrim's game cache and it did find some discrepancies- which Steam claims to have remedied, by reloading some files. But it didn't revert the mod leather color of the bikini pictured above. :sad: Ahh well. I still love ya for trying to help, M48a5... but whatever problems Steam supposedly solved- that was not among them.

I'm just going to save precious time and plagiarize myself, because that's my prerogative.

Well, now I have managed to fix that problem, with some considerate tutelage from Apachii!

Also, I think re-verifying my Skyrim game cache restored Bethesda's own personal master files, which I incidentally cleaned with TES5Edit, because they were dirtier than a stray's backside!

I would advise others not to do the same. Is there a need for these .esm files to remain DIRTY!? Apparently.
Bethesda will ALWAYS get away with crap that others cannot.
Surprised? Not really.

This wondrous, and highly-esteemed artist and author is so prominent- you can't possibly play Skyrim w/o knowing who she is and yet- this great woman took the time to explain EXACTLY how to determine where the problem was AND how to solve it! Between her and Emma... I'd swear ANGELS came from SWEDEN!!!

 

I also owe much thanks to M48A5 and his logical suggestion. Re-verifying Skyrim's game cache via Steam righted the wrongs I'd committed by cleaning Bethesda's .esm files with TES5Edit.

That, and the removal of two different corrupted mod versions and reinstallation of manual downloads of Nikitaa's & Apachii's mods FIXED two issues that disturbed me, greatly. HOORAY!

 

But I still need to go check Delphine's knees... LOL! It is typically inappropriate to place blame on anyone else for a problem you, yourself, are having. But under the circumstances, blame for triangular incisions appearing on the insides of women's knees falls squarely upon NEWMILLER! Sorry, buddy. You burned the ladies- now I'm burning you. I can't say I blame you for hiding, ducking out and blocking communications. You are a naughty, naughty boy. Tsk tsk. Can't blame it on Buffalo Bill, now can we? ;-) (The OTHER bad guy from "Silence of The Lambs").

But enough about that for now. I tire of ranting, (believe it or not). I just have little to no tolerance for crappy modding! And I know that seems hypocritical, coming from someone who has yet to brave that challenge. Not all of us were meant to mod.

 

But hey, I've done good by my fellow gamers, right here. I could have just taken my solutions and walked thanklessly away from this post. But no. I explained how the solutions were obtained, because I love the community. I really do! I know not every one of you reciprocates that love, but I am slowly learning to do THE RIGHT THING for non-selfish reasons.

 

In fact- the moment a human brain ceases to learn... it is, in fact, DEAD!

Check your leather armor outfit that it is fitted to the body mod you use. I've never looked that hard at Delphine's knees, but now I can't unsee it, so I'll be waiting for her to sit down now. Could just be an anomaly from stretching/morphing the knee, ie clipping. Now I'm off to Riverwood to watch Delphine sit...stay tuned.

My Delphine has no triangles. YAY. I'm guessing body mod needs to match armor body. :D
