ub3rman123
Probably not. If a thread hasn't been answered, it's most likely because nobody knows the answer. We're pretty thorough reading threads, and usually bumping won't do a thing to get it more visible.
Thandal
Question: If a support thread goes unanswered for a length of time (I use 72 hours from the last time the topic poster posted in the thread), is it ever appropriate to bump the thread?"Bumping is... bad." (Sorry, inside joke from DAO. ) Following-up on ub3rman123's reply, (which is correct) please remember that the only "support threads" here are for the Nexus sites themselves. If you're having a problem with TESNExus, or DANexus, or the Nexus Forums, then that's an issue for the Staff. (Although help from other members is always welcomed and encouraged! ) These sites are in no way "officially" connected to any of the games, and we cannot, and do not, provide "support" for them, or the mod to them found here. You may well be able to get lots of help and good advice from the folk who participate here, (I know I have!) But that's all voluntary. If you have an issue with a mod and have not received a reply to a post in that mod's comment thread, then a PM to the author is appropriate. If you have an issue which requires the Staff's attention and have not received a reply to a post in the "Site Feedback, Suggestions, and Questions" sub-forum, please feel free to PM any of us. But "bumping" in general is frowned on -- See the Dark0ne's policy statement at the beginning of this thread. And bumping your own topic is just plain rude.
Silvermistshadow
I consider the troubleshooting forums for each game to basically be a support forum.. What do other users attempting to give a solution to a problem also give? Anyways, I found what I'm looking for on the Bethesda forums and now I just have to wait a while. But unlike the sites maintained and staffed by the game publishers, we're just a bunch of players like you who choose to share our experience and stories with each other. If no one happens to know the answer to a particular question or problem, (or even if someone does know) no one is under any obligation to find or provide it. Participation (by all parties) is voluntary.
thiafy
So, I asked a question on the General Oblivion discussion forum, and I've realized that I probably should have posted it in the Troubleshooting forum, as it is a question about a bug (it's here). Should I repost a shortened version of the question on the troubleshooting forum, now that five days have gone by and I clearly barked up the wrong tree, or is there a way for me to move it over and then just edit it? I'd normally just leave it, but I think it's that the people who would know don't frequent that side of the forums, not necessarily that no one knows. Also: All swearing/inappropriate language is generally prohibited, yes? So for most general forums, I should try to talk as though a 12-year-old could see it?Is there any way for me to delete my posts in cases of accidental double-posting? If you click the "Report" button on the bottom of the post that you made (and you created the topic), you can ask a Moderator to move the topic to a more appropriate forum. As for the language, I just keep it civil (i.e. whatever I would use in a public setting; you wouldn't walk down a busy road cursing everyone out, would you? ). As for the double posts, I usually just edit my posts and delete the duplicated text and replace it with a note stating that it was an accidental double post, so people don't perceive it as spam. thiafy
Okay. :) Thank you! edit: It says "This form is to be used ONLY for reporting objectionable content and is not to be used as a method of communicating with moderators for other reasons." Are you sure that's where I should be asking for threads to be moved, or...? Edited August 30, 2011 by thiafy
DeadMansFist849
Yes, a thread in the wrong section is objectionable ;)

Already saw your Report (I check the Reports first, before looking at other areas of the Nexus sites) and moved your topic to the other forum you requested before I saw this.
SillyKristy
I've used the report feature to report a typo (which broke a link) in a locked thread. I'm assuming that was OK since I'm still around :)
