Nexus Taboo?

I can feel a lot of hate in this topics, some people claim that there is illegal contents present in nexus, so what are you waiting to give us links? Where are your proofs?

You're throwing vitriol against the staff members while they have taken the time to do decent answers. In the meantime, you're uploading your mods on nexus (nice hypocrysis show).

If you hate so much nexus, leave nexus, if you are not happy with decisions taken by the staff, leave nexus. No one prevent you to leave.

this whole comment makes little to no sense. though if you want proof of stolen content it would take a matter of min minutes to link a dozen mods from the banned site to prove that point. since i cant i wont obviously do that though... also im not sure if that's part of what you were saying...

The content of ads and the content of mods at that site are irrelevant, because it has already been stated that the reason for the ban is that some posters there said some mean things about Nexus moderators.

"The former" here refers to having mods with stolen content – and nowhere in that entire post does Dark0ne refer to pornographic ads or mods, both of which are entirely legal.

 

Protip: It is generally helpful to read the whole paragraph, rather than just the first sentence – or in this case, the first fragment.

 

She brought arguments, you didn't, so this is your loss.

That doesn't even make any sense. What have I "lost?" What did her arguments have to do with the discussion at hand? Nobody invoked civil rights at all, so bringing up this point, much less bolding it, is totally irrelevant. (And, in point of fact, civil rights do extend to social transactions beyond government interference, although they do not have anything to do with the current conversation. In fact nobody is claiming that they do.)

But seriously; I'm a member of both sites and can say that there is sketchy content - apart from the Adult side of things - on LL, but Nexus also has adult mods and there's certain content that also smells funny.

 

My 2c worth. But seeing as I haven't uploaded any of my mods here and don't have a post count in the thousands, most will just ignore me. :)

I haven't seen a lot of anger or vitriol or banworthy commentary in this thread. Just a discussion of the relative pros and cons of censoring everything related to LL. Frankly the poorest behavior so far has been on the part of micalov, who went straight into bringing up PMs and personal insults of not just individual posters but all LL members. That was embarrassing and revolting, and I hope he feels ashamed of himself.

Don't go to LL when your 5-year-old is looking over your shoulder. Problem solved. I mean, the name pretty much tells you what to expect there.

 

Again, I'm not especially bothered by the site being banned here. I think it probably does more to spread LL's notoriety than anything they could possibly do themselves. But if a site being banned from discussion on a particular forum is seriously a factor in what your 5-year-old manages to see on the internet, I'd say you have way bigger issues as a parent than anything the Nexus can help you with.

The fact that you are the one worried about being unable to stop yourself from browsing LL with your 5-year-old looking over your shoulder is what strikes people as especially odd, I think. I mean, you're the one with the mouse.

 

I don't worry about what my daughter will see over my shoulder when I'm browsing the internet because I'm the one in control, just like I don't worry about what she will watch on TV when I'm the one who chose the show. I worry about what she will find when she is in control.

the fact that both sites have adult content but LL makes no effort to hide it with "you must be 18 and older to view" mechanics is where the issue resides.

i am pretty sure that he's using his situation as an example. remember lots of new modders dont know a thing about these sites, also sometimes people click on links by mistake. also some links dont even look like they go to certain sites.
