Mods for Skyrim might ruin the fun??

It never ceases to amaze me that some people seem to be so concerned about things that others do with their games, especially when it concerns games like Bethesda's offerings which are popular mainly for one reason, the fact that they "are" moddable.

The thing to remember is that its your computer, your game, your enjoyment, so play it how you want it.

The only time you should feel concerned is if you find out that someone is running child porn mods.

Then the correct course of action is to park a pickup truck on their necks while waiting for the police to arrive.

Of course they do.

Common admit it we all have ruined lots of our games with mods!.

We all installed some super unrealistic armor for Fallout

Or some mega sword thats very easy to get for Oblivion.

We all ruin the games ourselves!

I just hope for more lore-friendly mods.

Body replacement mods should not be sexist, and exist equally for both sexes, and look realistic. I rest my case.

They do, Robert's Male for Oblivion is so good that there aren't any others, I hope that there can be an equivalent for Skyrim.

Well, you did say you were expecting a lot of hate for your comment, so you shouldn't act that surprised reading most of these comments. ;)

I'm sure everyone will experience vanilla Skyrim as it's meant to be experienced for their first character. From that point onwards they'll choose some mods that will enhance the replayability/longevity of the game... whether it be new textures/quests/armours/weapons/guilds/body-replacers or even 'anime mods'. Everyone will have their own gripes that they will want to fix. Only if the game does a really good job will the user not feel too compelled to 'overhaul' the game.

To suggest that modding possibilities be removed isn't a good thing. Simply because you don't like it doesn't mean you should deny it for everyone else, that's a bit mean and selfish. If I decided that ketchup or mayonnaise ruins food (I really don't like either), would you agree that noone in the world should henceforth be allowed to use either and that production of them be stopped?

Personally, I've tried all sorts of mods depending on the mood I have been in. One week I could have lots of ridiculous replacers installed only to be installing realism mods the next. I frequently change around the 'style' of my Oblivion to suit what I feel like playing/seeing at the time. This freedom is what has allowed me to play Oblivion to this day. My playtime is 100% in the thousands of hours. Without mods, Oblivion would have long been collecting dust on a shelf because I could write a 500 page book on the gripes/issues/bugs that I've encountered while playing (which I fixed mostly by installing mods).

Anyway, It's pointless to say that you dislike people 'ruining their games'. Even without mods you could say that people ruin their games depending on how they play it. Abusing bugs and glitches / not roleplaying properly / quicksaving and trying something luck related over and over until you succeed / giving your characer a silly name / making a deliberately ugly or weird looking character / wearing a silly combination of clothes. ;)

I use a ton of mods, yes including the skimpy outfits and body mods, but also quest mods and things like the better potion bottle mod. There are mods out there for pretty much every taste and you can ignore the ones you don't like so there is no point in atttempting to curtail other people's creativity.

Hi all. I don't think many people doubted it, but Bethesda confirmed in their forums that the creation kit will be released. Thought I'd drop the link. Thank you to the community for all the great mods it has provided all these years.
