Povuholo
Well, here it is.I still can't imagine someone bribing and threatening to commit suicide just to get access to something like a game character... What's your opinion on this? I think it's sad that someone can go this far, even if he wasn't serious.
Dark0ne
Someone posted this up on IRC the other day. Seemed like a good read although I think Blizzard think too highly of their game if they (1) think people would commit suicide over it and (2) think the possibility of someone committing suicide and ergo ridding the world of, quite obviously, a useless individual, is a bad thing! :X
Tiberiu911
The sad thing is that he isn't the only one. There are so many addicted WoW people. I know a guy who dropped school to play WoW. Seriously, people like that should have their Hard Drive Montain Dew'ed. And their disc flushed. And their computer power suply cable burned. Seriously, people like that should have their Hard Drive Montain Dew'ed. And their disc flushed. And their computer power suply cable burned. This is horrobile. The sad thing is that this is not all that rare. Horrible. I can understand being on the computer a LOT. I am very much like that. But at least Oblivion and getting online isn't ALL I do. I mountain bike, hike, go on insane trips into the forest and get completely lost for a while and get hurt by all of the thorns, and other fun things like that. The only reasons I'm not doing that now is, well, its raining, dark, and frigid cold outside. Still, I don't think that he should act the way he did. The offer to give out the names of the sites was a good one, and I think blizzard should have considered it. Horrible. I hope he gets some serious help. ResidentWeevil2077
You know, this is the kind of thing that erks me the most  . People who are addicted to a game SHOULD be put through the same kind of rehabilitation that crank-addicted tweekers are subjected to. I mean, c'mon, it's a DAMN GAME FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! It is a sad, but very, VERY real and unfortunate fact of life  .

It is a sad, but very, VERY real and unfortunate fact of life  . This is the main reason I dont associate with gamers in my town, the game is their life. Thats weird as hell. Problem is lack of self control and an inability to distinguish reality from fantasy. I agree with Rob B. folks like this need to go through rehab. And get a girlfriend. Adras
This is the main reason I don't play MMORPG's. I stick to non-online games such as Morrowind and Oblivion. A lot of the games that I have you can play online, but I don't. This kid really needs his internet cut and needs to experience some real life. I admit that I spend a lot of time on the computer, however, most of it isnt playing games. The majority of the time I work on my Morrowind Mod, but thats only even a few times a week, and most of the time I work on it for less than an hour before something else comes up. tmx
I tell you another said story about video game. I have a older bro whom not very sucessful because of gaming. went to college and fail. he went to the airforce reserve, drop out. got a job, quit it. My parents wants him to have a future, so they bought him a poultry farm (which cost 7 digit numbers) and work with him there until he can manage it and hire people and own it. They just sold the farm, and gave up on him and let him do whatever he wants. I'm coming there christmas to help my parents move out. I'm really pissed off about it. Its a real shame, because if he worked hard in 6 years could pay off the farm mortgage and then another 6 years makes a million. Airforce, car mechanic and farm, he would gave been a very good mechanic also. I know a while back there was a guy who played everquest and committed suicide. That was very sad. I don't think there isnt anythign wrong if you love video and play it a lot. As long as you can still make money, contribute something good to the community, and still like women. Vagrant0
I know a while back there was a guy who played everquest and committed suicide. That was very sad. Don't think he committed suicide so much as he just stopped eating/sleeping and died at the keyboard. (really no better way to go). The funny thing is that they had to give in or else be held liable for this kid's death/screwed up, pointless existance. I believe they would rather keep collecting monthly fees, and wait till he runs out of money and it becomes his own damn problem.
ResidentWeevil2077
This is the main reason I don't play MMORPG's. I stick to non-online games such as Morrowind and Oblivion. A lot of the games that I have you can play online, but I don't.Kudos, which is why I ABSOLUTELY hate NCsoft's MMORPG Lineage II for two reasons. Number A, it is strictly online, NO OFFLINE. Despite being a very beautiful game, this is something that turned me right off when I checked the game out. Letter 2, in order to play this beautiful game, you also NEED a valid credit (because of the f**kin' paid subscription, which is baloney BTW >:( ). It's something I just don't have for good reasons, one of which is I'm unemployed at the moment and can't afford a credit card. I also got a lotta games that you can play online, but don't need to. I for one don't play online at all (maybe once in blue moon on my friend's Xbox 360), and I ceratinly feel that NCsoft has alienated a good many players like you and I. I protest the MMORPG, and everything it stands for.
