omnimuffin
I'm new to these forums, but I'm a fairly long time user of the Nexus sites. Regardless, I'm posting because an idea dawned on me earlier today, when I heard that they confirmed a creation kit for Skyrim. My idea was, essentially, a mod that would enable the other regions of Tamriel to be entered and explored, hopefully including some mod-added regions, such as Elsweyr, perhaps via some sort of ESP converter, A' La' Morroblivion. Even without such a converter, it seems like an interesting prospect, does it not?
Kaylock
These ideas already exist for Oblivion, infact people have ported the entire game of Morrowind into Oblivion and created Elsweyr in the Deserts of Aquina i'm sure.
antonkr
Unless you have a huge team of developers its impossible. Trust me I know what one good experienced moder can do in a set amount of time and even with a team of a lot of experienced moders its a hard thing to do. mrpepperkitty
I've seen talk of trans-game converters for many games, always attempted, they never ammount to anything, except when the actual company dedicates lots of professional time, resources, and money to it. The only company I've seen actually pull off a game bridging file converter was Paradox, and that was for much, much simpler games.
iSev
It's certainly possible. Look at Nehrim.
antonkr
It's certainly possible. Look at Nehrim. With a huge team yes. And look at how long did it took to make it.
mrpepperkitty
It's certainly possible. Look at Nehrim. What? Nehrim uses the same engines and .esms. It is an Oblivion mod, not an entirely new game  , it is Oblivion completely overhauled, but still Oblivion to when you peel away all the bells and whistles. Skyrim is a new game, entirely new engine. But yes Nehrim's awesome
omnimuffin
I was referring to, in essence, something that resembles the Morroblivion converter. Except, you know, not prohibited by Bethesda.
Jermungand
How time consuming would it be to just create a landmass? No trees, no buildings, no creatures, no anything---just a topographic landmass the size of the original game's area?
