This extended spoof went from concept to air in six weeks, the results clearly show it and the Reagans didn't laugh at it either. The cast was even close to losing the studio audience in a few spots. But imo it does have a few brilliant bits of pointed comedy among all the poor writing and underrehearsed flubs.
