Dark0ne
I resent the fact people seem to be lamenting the loss of functionality that was BREAKING the forums and talking as though I wanted to remove the functionality for any reason other than the fact we HAD to remove it. As in, if it had continued, you'd have been looking at progressively worse load times (last weekend it was between 8 seconds - 30 seconds to load a page), that would have continued to get worse until the script timeout kicked in around about 45 seconds, at which point the forums would have been completely unbrowseable and there'd have been no more forums TO browse. I'd appreciate a little less aggro in that regard. As it is, among the complaints only one person from what I've seen has provided a very good, constructive piece of advice, notably: An alternative solution would be to add a "Last commented" filter to the Browse files section. Yes, that should be possible.
M48A5
I understand that this is your website and you can do as you wish. But what I find puzzling is the over 50 game forums (that's when I stopped counting) that have no topics posted. And quite a few game forums that have only one post that is over a year old. Wouldn't it save space and improve load times by removing these unused items?

It can't be true that there are forum threads open for mods that are 5 years old. Now, one example that came to my mind is Martigen's mod.Why are people still able to post and download old versions of it in the nexus, and still make a comment? According to me makes no sense.http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/14442/? --> OLDhttp://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/17784/? --> OLDBut it isn't only Martigen, it is a lot of mods. Arkngt
I've had an odd issue with loading the main Fallout 3 page since the changes last weekend, namely that it won't load if I use a direct bookmark link to it. Instead I get a ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED message. This in Chrome on both my stationary rig and my laptop. It's no problem with the other game sites - and I can navigate to Fallout 3 fine if I go through the Games list on those pages. I removed the cookies for Nexus and then it was fine for a while, but now I have the issue again. Weird one that I've never had previously. NathanSteele
As someone who created and ran two forum/social network sites that are as large as this one, so believe me when I say that I can certainly understand the level of frustration that you are experiencing right now, Dark0ne. Not just frustration in regard to how the server is performing, clusters going out, hard-drive failing, DDoS attacks, etc... etc... but also from the slew of complaints that pour in, b*tching and taking their frustration out on you and the staff. People don't seem to understand that while running these sites, it means never really having a holiday... as that is the time in which EVERYONE is home on their computers. Many don't understand the sacrifice and burn out that one can undergo while dealing with a site(s) this big. As a member here, I appreciate the level of work and dedication that you and the staff have for us members. The many sleepless nights, as well as, the numerous nights of stressful dreams of still working on the website when you finally DO retire for the evening, close your eyes and catch a couple of hours of sleep. Don't let the complaints get to you and know that there are tons of people (not so vocal) who really appreciate all of the work you folks put into this place... so, thank you! RoyBatterian
Uhm, won't this just shift the traffic to the tracking widget because now we have to go track every mod we want to keep up to date on instead of just browsing the mod sub? *confused*

It's a bit like shifting traffic on the road. If you shift it to an 8-lane motorway then the delays will be much less than if you shift it to a 1-lane A road. I'm older and my eye-sight isn't the best anymore and it's a little tough to read, so the small drop down is also a little bit of an issue.I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering. :)

I hope you didn't have my posts in mind when you entered this response. I stated my observations and at least offered some alternatives as I thought about them. Granted I had no idea whether or not they would work, but I hate complaining about something without having some sort of solution in mind.
