Reputation system abuse?

Not sure if this is just someone with way too much time on their hands, or some kind of alt-bot script giving mass positive/negative rep to some posts, but it does look out of place. Over in the Claudia's Little Secret (Adult) comments thread, there are several posts that suddenly have +100 rep or -99 rep on them. I know it doesn't really seem to affect much in the big picture, but it does have the potential to throw many comments threads off from legitimate negative feedback being viewed if this is one person or a handful of people giving negative rep at a whim.

I'm pretty sure posts get + or - 100 if the file owner mods them up or down.

And it's actaully + or - of 99 (not 100)

 

It was put there for modders to hide negtive comments that don't produce viable feedback and may cause the comments thread for the file in question to devolve (ie trolling, flamebaiting, etc). But a vote of 5 thumbs down from visitors to the comments page for the file can also hide the comment (and I've down-thumbed my share of snotty comments)

 

Personally, I just ingore comments like that myself - you know, "don't feed the trolls"

Yep, the author thumbed them up or down. That feature was put in place to reduce the number of requests to delete or moderate posts and give the author even more control over their uploads.
