A remote dirge,

Or a foreign lament.

 

Rides the wind,

And whispers into my ear.

 

Slithering into my head,

Through my very clockwork,

Until it knows me better than I know myself.

 

I discard the pretense,

Rationale,

And seek the silent call.

 

Sating desire,

With perpetual voyage,

Sans destination.

 

Will I wander the land bare foot?

Or drift out to sea?

 

Will I ever know;

This shepherd is but an echo.

 

A past cry for help,

Unheard,

Left cycling,

To come howling back to its caller.

I sit on a stump and wait to meet

With some one admiring me

I wanted to write and leave it at my feet

And be off for the butterflies in me

 

BUT,

 

Far off into the distance, I see a sight

As if there is a little candle in the night

Yet the fire keeps coming nigh

 

Now closer behind that bush, I hear a sound

It seems as a circling of a prey by a hound

So silent I become and scared

 

Oh, the odor is the one I remember so well

Engulfing me in a circle of love, off my chair I fell

Thank you. I have been using the UESP forums for a while, I'm growing to prefer the Nexus forums.

I love poetry, I even tend to lean a bit to the poetry side when writing prose...

I liked that last one you posted as well.

 

Sweet darkness fell,

Years ago.

 

And he remembers.

 

His eyes opened,

But he saw nothing.

 

Felt nothing.

 

His humanity,

Caught amidst a conflict of duality.

 

And he was left in the after-math,

Callous.
