In the vanilla game I ran into the issue after handing him to one of the two factions for upgrades, sometimes I could fix it and other times couldn't. Now I've been running 60+ mods for well over a few months and didn't start having problems until my last few games, it seems like ED-E will never attack and will always stop moving entirely when we encounter hostiles. Usually a disable-enable gets him moving but he refuses to attack. Is it possibly something script related? I'm going to try looking in FNVEdit to see if I can find anything but wanted to make a quick post to see if anyone's found a workaround (I've already tried the Vault 22 elevator trick, no dice). All other vanilla companions are fine with no bugs at all, and I don't have any mods that only pertain to ED-E and no other companions. And as in the description, if there's already an ongoing thread for this post a link and I'll lock this (I couldn't find one though). And ED-E, initially, was fine before I started tacking on more and more mods. And he was good up until a month ago or so but I was running a game where I didn't pick up any companions until the very end so it was hard to diagnose what could have started the behavior at that point... But again, even with the mod list I run Boone, Cass, Veronica, Rex and Lily work with no problems. It seems he was switching back to melee attack on his own and since he doesn't seem to have a melee attack he would just hang out. Hmmm I didn't even think to check if that was the case :wallbash: I wonder if there's a way (perhaps via scripting) to force him to never go into melee mode... I'm not knowledgeable enough to figure that out yet but might be worth looking into. Thanks for the tip :thumbsup: UPDATE: Nope, still no luck :( One strange thing I noticed is there are four versions of ED-E in the Creatures section when looking in FNVedit... I knew there was the default, FotA and BoS versions but what's the other one? Also the fourth has a different combat package... I changed the original three packages to no effect, will test with the fourth one tonight and see if that's the culprit... Remove all your inventory that you have him carrying, then see if he still is carrying ONE invisible pound. If it says ZERO, then he no longer has a stock weapon. Probably glitched away at a casino. There is a console command fix for this.1. Disable Ed-E. (Tilde ~, Point and click, enter: disable, then ENTER)2. Then, : player.placeatme 001694e2, then ENTERor player.placeatme 001694e0, then ENTEREach is a different repaired version of him. Cannot remember which is which now. Lol. A HUGE thanks to gusano for suggesting to look at ED-E's weapon :thumbsup: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z264/pharcry311/EDE_01.jpg As you can see in the above image, he had an Electrical Zap weapon that was not usable. After digging around FNVEdit a bit I found he needs the item that I added on the last line of that console snapshot. I forgot to snap another image, but after that I did a RemoveItem on the unusable one then EquipItem on the new one. Next battle, he was making Mantis Fricasse :woot: :woot: :woot: I'll have to start a new game and go grab him again to see if he's stuck with the unusable PoS by default... UPDATE: The unrepaired version of ED-E has the weapon that works, but when you fix him you get the one with a weapon he can't use...
