9% females doesn't mean that 9% is the total on the nexus...
it means that 9% voted and you can see that 36% of the voters log in weekly,so maybe there are more that didn't vote if they were male or female or how often do they log in...

sorry for my english... hope it's not non-sense...

@Niyogi

Male mod author/user here, but I was thinking that same thing. I thought it was little more even too, but the sheer number of male-tailored mods does sort of suggest that. =)

I see a lot of people trying to defend that there is a significant amount of females gamers out there, good, but listen, that doesn't seem to be the case for at least a game like Skyrim. And you might say a lot of woman didn't take the survey, well the same could be said about men. Now, I am not defending men for or something, don't want certain people knocking on my door and cut off my Schlong or anything. But yeah, girls ya missing out, stop playing those damn facebook games and play games like these xD

As one of the 1% users, I would like to let it be known, that the survey broke for me before I could finish it. No matter what the ratings averaged out to be, this is the best gaming (mod) site on the web. Thank you for all your hard work in letting some really fantastic mods be published.

I can't understand how someone would cite CNN and subsequently the ESA in such a disingenuous manner. Essentially that's a bold faced lie, I mean damn you linked it right there. It's nice that you linked to an article with horrible editorializing. It didn't take long for it to turn into "women are harassed and gaming is a boys' club" narrative. " 45% of all game players, and 46% of the most frequent purchasers of games, are female. Adult women make up 31% of the game-playing population." You realize that this doesn't mean that for Skyrim it would be the same, right? It said the exact same thing I did - that women prefer different genres, including more casual -less advanced- games such as those on phones and social media. Edited by EspadaDeHelado

How can you derive that from a survey regarding the Nexus websites?

Studies that are designed to analyze the male/female ratio of gamers do not look on one website to do so, they look in all areas related to gaming. Furthermore, neither these studies nor the Nexus' survey factor in the vast majority of gamers who choose not to partake at all.

It's still highly possible that 45% of gamers are, indeed, female, at least by today's standards. Drawing a conclusion on the state of gaming with a survey focused on website is unreliable and illogical.

> An average score of 9.23 out of 10 for recommending to a friend, now that is certainly a good thing to hear.

Whilst I'm sure the Nexus thinks this is a commendable statistic, it has less weight when you factor in how much competition they have.

I recommend the Nexus because the only other option is the Workshop, which is unregulated and most of the good mods can be found here anyway.

When you hold the majority market share don't be surprised people recommend your service. Are you shocked that Google is the most popular search engine as well? It's not that surprising.

I also would like to see a significant improvement in the tracking center. I like to come back regularly to find any updated mods, and the tracking center makes it difficult to find these. Right now it just shows all tracked mods by "updated date" in descending order and then shows the date I downloaded them. It would be nice to see only mods that are newer than the ones I downloaded.

The tracking center should also add endorse and untrack buttons to make it easier to endorse mods I haven't endorsed and to untrack mods I no longer use.

As far as I know the "45% of gamers are women" statistic is including people who say that occasionally play angry birds or candy crush as "gamers.

So, kind of true, but super misleading.

It's not like anyone gives a s#*! (or should give a s#*!) about gender on the Nexus, of all places.
