  1. 1. Do you think that Oblivion has lost its luster since you bought it?

    • Yes, it just doesn't have as much appeal as it used to.

I'm sure that many people are still enjoying their Oblivion experience, but for me it just doesn't seem the same as it did when I first had it. I know that this is normal for all games, but I didn't anticipate it to happen so soon. I don't think I am the only one who thinks that Oblivion has lost its shine since it first came out, but who knows, I might be proven wrong.

For me, it is just getting too repetetive to play it all over again, even with new mods.

Please, post your opinion and why you believe it.

I stopped playing many, many months ago. I will more than likely be coming back to the game and exploring the myriad of mods available very soon ... I'm currently getting the calling back to Cyrodiil and will probably answer it soon ;)

I still love it, but only because of some of the great mods that add to the game.

Precisely. Without mods, Oblivion wouldn't be the same. I would have stopped playing it months ago if it wasn't for OOO and Natural Enviroments, just to name a few. A few mods can change a game entirely, it's just those small details that make a game wonderful.

It did got boring, thankfully I have alot of games. I still play it from time to time, but it just isn't the same anymore.

Of course, everything will change when Project Serpent will be released :).

To me it got boring much faster than Morrowind, even with mods.I don't play it much anymore. Sometimes I start a new character, but get bored quickly. Doing a guild for the second or third time is just not interesting anymore.

When I play Oblivion now, most of the times it means I'm testing my mod.

But I'll get back to it, later.

One thing I forgot to add is that there are quite a few good and unique non-quest-related dungeons out there. Sideways Cave is probably the best known because it's close to the IC, but does everybody know about Fingerbowl Cave, Blackrock Cavern (!), Lost Boy Cavern, and the others? Fort Redman was nice too, with the bridges.

You'll get to visit many of the better dungeons in the mod I'm working on. Most of them I haven't seen myself. It's too bad some people have quit playing oblivion already without having seen these.

I stopped playing months ago too. I have played a little since then, but not really with any great enthusiasm. I play it on and off, though I never really get a character much past 20 hours or so before I get bored again. As Pov says, it gets boring far more quickly than Morrowind ever did.
