Faelrin
So I've been thinking of starting my first blog, specifically for Skyrim, but I'm not sure if it will be worth the effort in creating it, planning it, etc. The first Idea I had was to do a sort of "how to make mods" tutorials thing, since I've learned plenty of things such as the CK, gimp, nifskope, and even blender, and would like to share the knowledge I accumulated over the years, but here's the problem: Most of the knowledge came from other tutorials I've read throughout the years, and there's not only just the ones I've read and learned from, but many others out there touching the different aspects of modding, that I haven't read, or just am not aware of. Wouldn't I just be standing on the shoulder's of the giants that came before me by doing so? Or is the more the better in this case, and I should go through with it, and provide links to related tutorials for a source, more information, etc, after my tutorial (would that even be necessary)? Another idea I had was to do a play-through of my character. That's something else I'd like to do with it, but I'm not really sure how far I'd get with it, since I tend to restart because I change my load order up numerous times (though I'm getting close to settling), and I sometimes experiment with different play-styles, even if its the same character visually and in name/race/whatever else. I also use minimal mods, though its not like I would be intending on using it to showcase them, since there's plenty of youtube videos that do that just fine, but I'd probably make mention of them somewhere, since someone's bound to ask sooner or later what something I'm using is. Also would linking it to my profile on the nexus be allowed here if I were to start it (would it count as spam or advertising)? It's probably a dumb question but I'd rather be safe then sorry. Ultimately, I'd know it would be up to me to decide, but I'd still like to hear some thoughts on this before I do, since it would be my first thing of this nature. I'd probably update it biweekly if tutorials, probably weekly if play-through. Edit: Here's the blog: http://faelrinmodblog.blogspot.com

Faelrin
Looks like you've done a mixture of stuff. Guess that means I don't need to stick to one idea for doing this, but then again I might just until I get the hang of it.
Elianora
I tried to keep up with my website but I suck at writing :P
icecreamassassin
I keep a project blog and throw out the occasional scripting tutorial written from a laymen perspective (as most I have read are written like technical manuals by those traditionally trained in coding), so if you can find a unique angle and have something to share, it's always appreciated by the community and your followers who want to learn more, even if it's something that's covered elsewhere. The more sharing of information the better.
DrMonops
I really enjoy your blog and I think it's awesome that you share what you learn with the community. Although I'm not really sure how you find the time to blog between constantly working on LotD and replying to comments. Do you even sleep?
icecreamassassin
lol yeah I don't get around to blogging as often as I would like to that's for sure... What is the " Sleep " of which you speak? :P
Faelrin
So I'm finally getting it started. I choose blogger as the site. Getting my profile together now. Will need to come up with a name and domain name though, before actually getting things posted in it. I hope "Faelrin's Mods and Tutorials" sounds fine, since I'm not sure if I can edit this later, and I'm not the most creative for naming things.
