ResidentWeevil2077
I like listening to many different musical genres. Everything from hard rock, pop, country, and contemporary adult pop, to anthem trance, hard trance, hardstyle/habdz up, and D&B, anything that peaks my auditory senses. But I do have my favourite bands that I like listening to - sure, I'll listen to anything current, but I like to listen to the old hits as well. I realize there are probably other threads that are much like this, so forgive my ignorance and complete & utter laziness. So, below is an "essential" list of most of my favourite artists, but I have plenty more that simply cannot be listed all at once ;) - Bryan Adams; I first heard his music a while ago (like 15 years), but I never really got interested in him until '98. My mother pulled out his 1991 LP "Waking Up the Neighbours", and I instantly fell in love. I've been a fan ever since, but I've never been able to make it to any of his concerts unfortunately :( His music opened up my eyes to a whole new world.- Colin James; not many of you will have heard of this Canadian before (since he tours Canada almost exclusively), but my Yankee buddies will have heard his hit song "Voodoo Thing" playing on rock radio stations before. He's actaully more into blues than rock, but his rock recordings are nothing short of goodness  ...- Nickelback; oh yes, I like this international rock group too (I have good reason to, because I hail from the same Canadian province as them ;) ) Their latest "All the Right Reasons" is their best yet (other than "Silver Side Up", "The Long Road", "The State", and "Curb")- Creed; I like Nickelback, and I also happen to like Creed too. While it's a shame these guys disbanded, I still think their music is inspiring... Can you take me higher!- Chicane; British dance producer Nick Bracegirdle first caught my attention when he collaborated with Bryan Adams on the UK #1 hit single Don't Give Up back in 2000. Chicane actually was the first time I had listened to real dance music, and I instantly got hooked on that kind of music. I still have the UK single of Don't Give Up as a matter of fact...- ATB; Chicane introduced me to dance music, and ATB introduced me to trance. I like this German Dance producer for his moving and uplifting tracks and DJ sets. I can't wait for his new "Trilogy" album to drop :D- Paul van Dyk; while ATB was into more or less commercial trance music, Paul van Dyk was the first time I listened to real trance. His 2000 album Out There and Back still holds significance in my CD library.- BT; I wasn't too familiar with his music until 2001, and only then did I realize his musical history was long and varied (dating back to as far as 1992 when he was wth Deep Dish). The only other time I heard BT before then was his remix of Tori Amos' "Talula" as featured on the 1996 movie "Twister". I also like his scoring of the movies "Driven", "The Fast and the Furious", "Monster", and "Stealth".- Tiësto; about the same time I was discovering trance music, I happen to buy his debut artist album "In My Memory", and I also was hooked on his sound. Since then, I've tried to buy up as many of his CDs as I can, his latest being "In Search of Sunrise 5".- Armin van Buuren; I can't remember how I found out about him, but I think I was looking for one of Paul van Dyk's albums. I wasn't too sure about Armin at first, but when I popped "76" into my CD player, I was immediately moved. I especially like his "State of Trance 2004" mix compilation. While I have many more artists I like to mention, there are simply too many to list here. These are only a handful of artists that have really inspired the musician in me, and I've become quite passioante about music, second only to my passion for games. Anyway, feel free to list your fave bands, artists, singers, etc.
ninja_lord666
Do honestly believe any one will read all that!? I already answered this: I'm not the "musically inclined" I don't listen to a lot of music. However, when I do, I like many types music: classical, some pop, rock, metal, death metal, some country, some techno, video game and movie sound tracks. Out of that list, my favourites are classical and death metal (not a likely pair ) Also, the LotR 1-3, Silent Hill 1-4 (2's the best), and Star Wars 1-6 sound tracks are good, too. Here is a link to a video for the nerd in all of us :P (It's a musical-play-thing type group performing old Nintendo songs!)
Rhydderch Hael
Do honestly believe any one will read all that!?Well, I skimmed over the names seeing if anything matched up with my favorites. Then I saw words like "Bryan Adams" and "Creed", after which I skimmed over the names hoping I wouldn't find anything in common with my own tastes. ;) I've got Bach (I prefer concertos— more elaborate than a quartet, more intimate than a symphony); I've got Creedence Clearwater Revival; I've got Taproot, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, STP, Garbage, Apocalyptica, and Leona Naess. In truth, the list of bands I truly hate would be the shorter.
Povuholo
- Armin van BuurenA dutch one! :) MuseThat's my favourite. I actually heard them on MTV the first time, with Starlight and Knights of Cydonia. I bought the Black Holes & Revelations album. It was okay. But when I looked at what else they'd done... Their other albums are much better. The songs I like most are Citizen Erased, Stockholm Syndrome and New Born. But I like almost every song they made. And they are amazing live! ResidentWeevil2077
- Armin van BuurenA dutch one! :) You should also know that Tiësto is Dutch too ;) If you recall, he was the one who performed at the Opening Ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens (He released a compilation of the music he performed called "Parade of the Athletes", which I also happen to have ;) )
