BlueGunk
I'm using Mod Organizer. Please can anyone tell me where MO puts SKSE crash dump files? My SKSE INI is correctly set for creating them, but I can't track them anywhere despite searching the PC. It's possible none have been created despite a few CTDs while moving mods around. Is there a way of forcing a destination using MO? Under NMM I always found them in the My Games area. Thanks!
myztikrice
They are in the same place for MO. C:\Users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE\Crashdumps If they are not there you have set the incorrect SKSE.ini or you have file extensions turned off and your ini is really SKSE.ini.txt Edited November 3, 2015 by myztikrice
BlueGunk
Thanks! My INI is correct but I don't have a crashdump folder. I have added it - shall see if that cures it. In earlier days using NMM, it used to write crashdumps to the SKSE folder in the MyGames route, never needed a crashdumps folder before! Thanks for your time and support. BlueGunk
Hmm - may I re-open this question? I still cannot for the life of me get my MO SKSE to give me crash dumps, or find them if it does. I've had a few CTDs on saves and under my NMM set up I never had a problem getting DMP files to go through. At the moment, under MO, I get nothing. Nada - zippo. :wallbash: I've tried trawling the Internet and forums and I can't find an answer to this. Anyone any ideas, I'd be most grateful! Thallassa
I think it puts mine directly in the skyrim data folder. Other places to check: - MO's overwrite (should always be the first place you check) - Documents\My Games\Skyrim\ one of the folders in there. BlueGunk
Thank you for your help. Well, I searched everywhere and nothing. In fact, SKSE is either not generating DMP files despite my INI set to do so, or there has been no file generated so far (which seems weird since I have had a few crashes).Nothing appears in MO's overwrite for this. I'm stumped.
IsharaMeradin
My crashdumps go to: Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE\Crashdumps I have had minidumps activated ever since it became a feature and they have been put in this location while using NMM and MO. Please make sure that you have edited the SKSE.ini file correctly and that it is in the correct location [Debug]WriteMinidumps=1 Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE Question: Is your SKSE installed part in the game directory and part as a mod in MO? If so, that might be. My SKSE has always been installed in the game directory. Thus I have the liberty to run via SKSE both directly and in MO. BlueGunk
Thanks for your reply. Yep all is good with the MO set up and INIs, and my DMP output location is as yours. I installed my SKSE the MO 'Gopher Way' which is the half and half method. I'll give your method a go - it is easy to do and seems a really good idea, and might resolve this issue! Thanks! macrocosm144
Yep, thats it, just to add a confirmation here for the next person who lands here, dont install the scripts in MO2, just put them directly in the data directory, after that I got my precious crash dump XD
