SayinNuthin
I would speculate that the anims and mechanisms are already 'in the game' somewhere. However I don't recall ever having seen a horse in any game.. perhaps they got FEVed or something but; "A horse, or something built around the same general plan, was coming down the street at a hard gallop. Its hooves did not make the pocking noise of iron horseshoes. Bud realized it was a chevaline - a four-legged robot thingy."From The Diamond Age, by Neal Stephenson - Bantam Books in 1995 A mechanical, rideable Giddyup-Buttercup? Here's Boston Dynamics 'Wildcat' demonstrating proof-of-concept; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE3fmFTtP9g And this is their earlier 'BigDog' some jokers put horns on for a laughhttp://media.techeblog.com/images/boston_dynamics.jpg BoS riding into battle on mech mounts sounds pretty cool... Deleted2948850User
You can't simply import a horse over from Skyrim, the way skeletons and models work is completely different from the older games.Even though it's practically the same engine, they tweaked/changed quite a few things which makes it incompatible with the olderengine in a couple of ways. Maybe it'll be possible to convert older engine stuff to FO4 in the near future, but it's not doable at this time.
SayinNuthin
Well that's at least good to know, thanks Darkco.
Boombro
You can't use the anything from Skyrim as well. You are safer making the two headed cows or dogs rid-able.
Deleted2948850User
Interesting thought, you might be able to use a brahmin or a radstag as a template and maybe the PA scripts to make them ridable.
SayinNuthin
I wanted a ridable radscopion since FO3, standing on it's back like a surfboard, hands (and weapons) free..
Deleted2948850User
HA! Radscorp surfing, the new rage of the wastes!! xDI would love to see this, if only for a laugh =P
bben46
Some really good modders tried to get a horse into FONV and couldn't get past a concept stage. Some of the necessary parts of the game engine just are not there. Sometime between Oblivion and Fallout 3 the engine seems to have forked into a Fallout version and a TES version. And the fallout version doesn't have the necessary stuff for horses.
KazFoxsen
If there was a way to make the Giddyup Buttercup roll around, standing on that would be hilarious.
