"It's true that the freedom our games offer you can lead to unintentional consequences that are sometimes bad, when the game combines too many unexpected elements at once," Bethesda wrote. "Given the scale and complexity of the systems at work, especially when allowing you to build your own settlements, we're happy that Fallout 4 is our most robust and solid release ever, and we'd like to thank our amazing QA staff who worked as hard as anyone to break the game so we could fix it during development. But a hundred testers will never replicate the many millions playing the game now, and we're hard at work addressing the top issues."
The patch will be released first as a beta on Steam, before going into full release for PCs, and then consoles. After that, smaller and more frequent updates are planned, followed by a few bigger patches. It's basically the same sort of process that Bethesda has used for previous games, and it "allows us to make sure each fix is working right, as any change can have unintentional side effects in a game this huge."

As someone who's worked as bug tester for small game projects, I've come to understand the frustration of fixing something small on day one, only to find that ten improvements down the road it's back somehow without provocation. And this time, it's brought a revolver and a hatred of the game's kneecaps.

Glad Bethesda keeps working on this stuff.

Fingers crossed the massive FPS dips in city areas get fixed. It's so bad. I go from 60 to 30 in really weird areas and by the time I'm out of that small area, it's back to being fine again. Also hoping the amount of bugs and stuff I've found because apparently nobody else gets them but me.

I have an R9 GPU, but I heard that new drivers updates for gtx cards almost fixs the dip.

If you have an R9 card, try amd reddit, get from it an in tweak that helped a lot.

Installed them today hoping some things would be fixed, none at all really. I'm still not even sure if there's official SLI support still, I had to basically force SLI rendering to get it to work, since the latest drivers I'm not getting any significant improvements, I'll have to play around more. If I can guess anything is that perhaps the FPS dips are less frequent but I am still getting them nonetheless.

Imho, much to late. Not even a list of changes has been posted so people at least get a preview. I've managed to kill most bugs that personally itched me the first three days with hacky tools and no source available. They could easily have fired out a day one patch, given they have source available and know exactly which tools to use. The key rebinding and UI is in general a utter mess. Skyrim's UI was downgraded to bare bones, but at least it was conveniently functional. Let me give an example. The workshop uses arrow keys to browse through menus. I'm controling my character via arrow keys. When selecting a item in the settlement workshop and want to move with it, I first have to exit the menu, then move my character into position, then return to the menu and place my object.

Another example. When moving around with Dog I often have the situation that I'm moving forward exactly the moment Dog crossed the way in front of me, ending the situation with me inside the communication menu of Dog. Why this is? Because they've put the dialogue options on the arrow keys...-.-

I don't know how often I teared my hair out because of this. I'm a patient and forgiving guy when it comes down to new game releases, but this is so blatantly ignorant, I feel like they did not even remotley cared about leftys and arrow key players. The amount of frustration it created is giving me no other option on feedback, then to say that this is a disgrace and should not serve as example on how to treat preordering customers, that have spend more then 500€ to this company in the course of the past 10 years.

Before your comment, I had no idea if there was people who game like that it.

I have never seen anyone use arrow keys instead of WSAD, maybe that why beth did that?
