Current state of fo4 mods

Turn off the adult content. You had to have turned it on at some time as OFF is the default. Nexus is NOT a kiddie site. It is intended for MATURE people. The minimum age to be here is 13. To see mature content it is 18. If you lied about your age, please leave now. Please read the TOS.

 

There's mature, then there's TITTIES GALORE!!!!!! - and there's a big difference between the two. I'm mildly offended by the vague implication that I must be a kiddy if I'm not looking to mod everything into thongs and nipple tassels. To me, realism mods are fairly 'mature' - in the sense that it requires a certain level of mental 'maturity' to want your game to reward planning and patience and punish recklessness. Boob mods - especially the ones with tits so big your back would be wrecked by 25 - are just boob mods.

 

I have mature mods enabled for body textures - stuff like scars, tattoos, dirt. These raiders all look like they've had a shower every day. I'm a bit miffed when I log on and I have a screen full of vaginas.

Bethesda promised that the consoles would have access to the same mods the PC users would which means some sort of unified repository run by them and nobody's heard a peep about it yet.

consoles will not have the same mods. most if not all adult mods will not be ported in any way.

It is true, you will be flooded, but by choice, since there is a filter. However, even if one chooses the adult option, you won't be spared tasteless ("hey dudes, check out my babe" with a very bad mod) or disgusting ("any babe this fine is sure to get knocked up") titles, descriptions, or comments. That last quote is a paraphrase of an actual one.

 

Many, many of the nudity, lingerie and clothing mods are incredibly done, tastefully and professionally. They add immeasurably to our use. The others? Someday the market will weed them out.

While I am not into nude mods etc, I also don't care that others are. That said, I did encounter an issue the other day at work while browsing, evidently I had at some point in the past set my account to allow adult content (Probably for full tattoo bodies or some such, *shrug*) which wasnt an really an issue in the past, as authors were typically great about labeling mods as NSFW / Adult just as an extra censor. Unfortunately, I clicked on something along the lines of a "better companion" of some such that was using a nude mod, so I loaded up some questionable images here next to my coworker lol.

I am not blaming the mod creator, I shouldve re-enabled my censor (Tbh, I didnt realize it was off.) but I will say that it is still a simple & nice gesture to add a "NSFW" or "Adult" in the mod title -- makes it easy to be sure :)

I don't really care what other people want in their game, but that is also a false assumption on your part, as well. Some of us, myself included, can "handle" seeing digital breasts just fine, just don't find any entertainment / better experience gained from doing so, doesn't make me nor others any more of a child. Just means I don't have a desire to have nekkid pixels in my game, hell I am more likely to have nude pin-up posters of real women in my game than nude skins, myself. Everyone's different.

You are not required to have those 'adult' mods in your game, just as other players are not required to have the My Little Pony mods or whatever in their game. That is what modding is - everyone wants something different. So just close your eyes ( or set your preferences ) for whatever content displeases you and mod on. :thumbsup:

 

We know tagging is not perfect. But the primary reason is people would rather whine than tag. :yes:

This really extends further than just basic body mods. If you go on Skyrim's Nexus area, most of the mods in the Armor, Animations, Texture, and Companions categories are half sexual mods and half everything else. Hell one of the most endorsed mods for Skyrim is animated prostitution. Now I'm not upset because these mods exist, I'd be lying if I said I didn't download a few, but our general attitude about it is annoying. We add all this skimpy material and act like 10-year-olds who've just discovered porn for the first time. For a community that wants to be viewed as a mature group, we sure can be immature at times and THAT's what I think really bothers people like OP.

Hmm I've seen a few mods with adult images that seem like they shouldn't be viewable if you're logged out/have adult content disabled when logged in. I think logging out disables that sort of stuff? There was a recently uploaded one for Skyrim that scared the pajamas off my Monstera Deliciosa because it caught us unawares. Or maybe there's been a change in site rules I wasn't aware of.

I can handle it perfectly well, thank you very much. I see and handle the real thing every time I get up in the morning, on account of having my own pair of breasts and having to wrestle the bloody things into bras. I guess it's because of this I find the excessive amounts of "LOL NIPPLE SHOTS!" boring and juveline rather than mature. Yeah, great. Tits. Been there, done that, my underwiring is stabbing me in the boob again and the label is scratching my back. They aren't exciting, really. Sure, they're pretty and jiggly and squidgy, but... they're irritating fat deposits on your chest that flop about unless you pin them down in bras. But hey, female POV. I'm not the target audience.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't downloaded CBBE and other mods for Skyrim. That doesn't mean I need them jumping down my throat, though. If I want visual mods, I'll look for them. But right now, I think the most important thing for Fallout 4 isn't tits. The most important thing for FO4 right now is helping and supporting our modders to fix the glaring "MOD ME NOW!" holes Bethesda left in the game, and I feel that this flood of CBBE tits is detracting from what matters.

 

But I'm sure there are people who will disagree - people that will say that tits ARE the most important thing in Fallout 4. To those people... I am sorry your lives are so empty.

our general attitude of "ignore it if we dont like it" is a pretty good one in my opinion.

the only people being immature about it are those who complain for no reason because there is a 'new' nude mod for FO4. the number of people who whine about adult mods is irritating. many dont even consider that the first major nude mod for FO4 is CBBE bodslide which will dominate the modding scene for many years to come simply because it is the most convenient and well made body mod out there.

you should report any mods that are not labeled properly, you should never see nudity or any other adult mod on this site if you are logged out or have an adult filter. there are plenty of people who dont listen to this rule though.

CBBE and UNP were created by female modders on this site so that they can have female bodies that they can customize. the number of 'horny' boys on this site is not as high as people seem to think.

they arent 'jumping down your throat' there just happens to be five adult mods that hit the hot files this week, this isnt new to the site who remembers the nude statue replacers for Skyrim? all of those fill the hot files for week when they were released.

i think better player bodies and textures is a start, and without the GECK it isnt easy to make mods right now outside of texture mods. that is why nude mods have been made so quickly. either way making mods right now can actually be pointless as Bethesda is still patching the game and working on DLC which will require mods work around them. mods will still be made even if they're are nud mods.
