Why I don't feel welcomed by the Nexus (critical critique of site, not complaining)

After reading countless tales of issue after issue of bannings happen over some of the most minuscule issues, it's honestly sad how easily you can get banned on this site.
Heck, I once said a sarcastic comment about the uploading of copyrighted material, and got banned until I sucked up to a moderator.
Now I understand that the moderator's job is to keep the site safe from large companies suing the Nexus, but I can't help but wonder if the ban hammer is still used all too much.

Today I tried to find a hair mod that a good modder I admire uses.
Than I learned he was banned.....
It was a fricken hair mod. and he was banned.
This is both frustrating, and really scary, because I feel like I could even get banned over this post were I am voicing my opinion.
Look, Nexus, I don't want to cause any trouble, and I thank you guys for your site and everything. But when a 2 year user feels unwelcome to post his opinion, there is something wrong here.
I get what you guys are trying to do, but it would be much more beneficial for everyone on the site if instead you guys did something like simple warnings first instead of only using the hammer so frequently.
Thanks to the current system, I am even cautious about making this comment.

Yeah, that's really hurt my feelings. I have an old account, let's say DB and another new one, say it MW. What I want to do is to change username from DB to MW, but the forum has no option to change username directly so I had to create a new account.

I created that and announced in my old account, saying "This is the elder account of MW, please directly contact to MW." and so the new one "This is the new account of DB, please do not contact the old one." Do you know what I got? Banned. Said in the ban reason: multiple account abuse.

OMG, I have my mods in DB and I can't even touch mine!

One doesn't simply trust Nexus Mods. It is just like a friend that stabs you to your back.

Yeah, I know. I will get banned in seconds.

This is prime example of the "nexus abuse" mentality.

Yeah, I know. I will get banned in seconds.

It was specifically listed as against the rules in the ToS. Why expect a different outcome?

Generally? Tl;dr seems to be the culprit most of the time. Or an entirely irrational sense that the rules don't actually apply when they have read them. Truly baffling behavior. Like expecting playing with fire to give one a nice tan.

Let me fix that for you!

The bold and underlined text is not TLDR (whatever is that today's acronym).

It like putting your password into a *random* computer. You think that you could login to your account with a hope there would be nothing happens. Days-by-days you had logged to many accounts. Whoops! You noticed that someday you couldn't login anymore and there must be a lot of stuff inside of your account (personal documents, for instance) and you need them.

When the computer is scanned by an antivirus, there was a spyware that haunts the computer for months. The spyware stole your password and the owner of that spyware changed your password, then you blame yourself why should you trust that computer.

Don't tell me that you shouldn't trust all computers.

You know what would have avoided that happening? Telling us before you did it.

As you are well aware, we have these rules:

One account per person

Members are only allowed to be in possession of one account on the site. Members caught using more than one account will be regarded as attempting to exploit or circumvent features on the site and will have both their accounts banned. If you are experiencing problems with your account please contact the admins using the Contact Us links on the sites and we'll work to resolve the issue for you.

Account closure/termination

If you do not intend to use your Nexus Mods account any longer or you have other compelling reasons to have your account closed then you can request the Nexus staff to block your access to your account in a dedicated thread (Account Closure Requests) on our forums. Due to certain considerations we do not delete accounts so this action will take the form of a special type of ban. When we close accounts your email address is scrubbed from our database to ensure your privacy.

You should also note that if you repeatedly request the closing and re-opening of your account then, depending on the circumstances and subject to the judgment of the staff, it may be regarded as an abuse of the account closure request feature and your account may be terminated permanently.

- which you broke/ignored.

What you should have done, is cleared any personal information from your old account (the one you called DB) and requested that it was closed - which can be done here: link - when once the account was confirmed as closed, create your new account.

By doing it through the proper channels, we could have known you had no intentions on using both accounts and the situation would have been handled differently.

Yet, you didn't - and now blame us for a situation that is entirely your fault.

Now, since you have again created another account and violated another rule (ban evasion) I'm going to have to close your new account - if you want to have your files from any of your accounts removed - then submit an unban appeal listing the accounts and the files you wish removed.

If i understand correctly FackRules, he just want to be able to change his display name without the need to create a new account. Because some persons don't like their current pseudonym.

Sio, why not create a new "service" of requesting account name change like the one for requesting to close their accounts. At the staff discretion of course.

I think this thread was started by someone playing advocate for a banned member. They probably didn't agree with the ban, so they questioned it. This is nothing new.

I see staff actions here I don't agree with but I don't question how things are. I am here for the free mods, not to white knight lost causes. If the staff wants to ban someone for uploading copyright protected content and not ban someone else for doing the same thing that is their business. I mark it as one of the valid complaints about Nexus and move on, since there is nothing anyone can do about it other than rage or otherwise make fools of themselves. Internet 'injustice' is how things are everywhere online. An attitude of indifference makes it all palatable. I simply don't care, and after rereading what I just typed I care even less.
