Does fallout 4 run out of memorey

When the game CTD (especially when teleporting into the middle of a settlement during a raid). And if you try again, no CTD. Then it means the game just went overflow. It happened a lot since last patch. Sometimes I noticed fps ran lower for no reason (like something is running in the background). I had to close the game, and relaunched, and it fixed it.

Whenever I notice the FPS dropping badly I'll go to console and do PCB. This will purge buffers and will often, though not always, help in preventing a CTD. Hopefully there will be a patch or maybe a mod created to help in fixing this issue like in FO3/NV as well as TTW.

I've neved CTD ever on Fallout 4.....surprisingly i'll admit considering most games do it lol

I do however, when alt-tabing, sometimes get windows asking me if i wanna lower my scheme settings. (Is that cause it's running out of memory? I dunno)

When that happens i just restart the game. I'd love to know why it does do that though, cause it's so annoying that it keeps asking me.

Purge Cell Buffers... It is a way of cleaning out all the cached data that is no longer being used. After you play the game for a long time a lot of useless stuff can build up in the cell buffers possibly lowering you're performance. This console command (PCB) will just flush the cache. Sometimes it can help prevent getting a CTD. Other Fall Out games had mods that you could configure to purge cells automatically which definitely helped. Not sure though if FO4 has the same problems other FO games had. But probably it does...
