I'm just hoping that FO4 is the last game Beth releases with their creaky old 32-bit engine.

Are you aware that FO4 has updated Creation to run on 64bit?

Engines are not set in stone. They get changed ALL the time. The Creation that Fallout runs on is different than the Creation that Skyrim runs on.

Odd but Skyrim broke my CTD record in every nomination.

Both vanilla and overloaded with mods Morrowind along with Oblivion were MUCH more stable with very few CTDs, freezes and etc unless I broke them on purpose...

If Skyrim CTDs less than oblivion, you did something wrong.

I doubt that. Actually what CaptainPatch says is pretty much it. Skyrim was built on the edge when x32 technology was already a history and devs put it under unimaginable strain ready to crumble under it's own weight. Before Sheson's patch it was brutal nightmare. I've seen some big scene modders talks here and on Reddit (IIRC) few years back and many who modded previous Beth games said this one is broken in every possible way, the most unstable game they ever worked with, which seem exactly as it is to me. Oblivion wasn't all rainbows and sunshine, but as I said, game still held under huge pile of mods if you set them up right, Skyrim did not...

Oooh, no I was not aware of this. Got FO4 right away, but simply haven't had time to get down to business with it.
