An advanced fully voiced follower for Fallout 4 along the lines of Sofia (my Skyrim follower mod) complete with a vault quest line. She will be quest aware, scripted and all that. I've already started on the lines and they are being recorded in advance of the CK by the same voice actress. As usual the character will be something a little different, with an emphasis on silly but lore friendly humour although different from my other follower mod.

 

How are you planning to handle the player's dialogue?

I will be going down the route of splicing audio clips from the player character. I'll let my follower do the talking and keep the player's lines short and simple. Anything in depth I'll either let her intervene or do a fade to black transition to show the passing of time. I think it's probably the only way to do it seamlessly without using a mod to make the player entirely silent.

Thanks for answering :) I'm doing a similar thing (I have a complex NV companion, have a new character planned for FO4, will be using the same voice actress, me in this case:P, etc). I'm involved in at least two ongoing discussions about how to handle the player character voice. I'm so torn. I've tried writing with vanilla lines for her initial encounter and it was pretty miserable. I may go silent protag (not forcing the player to do so). Can't decide. I'm not thrilled at the idea of having a primarily NPC driven narrative.

I was working on a new 3d model weapon bullpup but I was a noob and never saved and maya crashed... 3 hrs work poof gone

going to look through my old models and see if any are worth texturing and putting out as a resource

@uedftus There's an autosave option too. I use that incremented, and I sometimes remember to incrementally save ctrl-alt-s. Don't worry, that was important pain. No matter how many times the PC police say negative reinforcement is counterproductive and ineffective. I KNOW it works. There's new studies that say you can't spare the rod too. So, good for you!

 

I've gone cold turkey on 3ds Max and learning Maya too. Maya gives me a "candy" vibe, so far...[edit] I found a video that does something only in 3ds max and something I want...so after that course, cold turkey...

I've tried to make the weapon as female friendly as possible. No cats were injured during the creation of the weapon as well. The weapon was made from recycled Damascus steel, and the leather was sourced from vegetarian cows. This is the only knife I know that accepts the victim into itself and then rips it's heart out.

Trying to make a wasteland-style katana, I've basically taken a lead pipe and then attached the blade from the Shishkebab (removing the valves and pipes was painful). I used a gear for the tsuba. Only problem is, it's invisible ingame. :confused: Think I might start a thread and ask for help. I know that there is a lot more to a katana than "curved blade" but it's not like anyone's going to give a s*** in the wastelands. If it can slice heads off then use it amirite?

 

 

My nifs were screwed up like said above. No bounding sphere, no showing up in game. A reference in string [65] I get ctd. No bgsm file in the bsshaderproperty text thingie, nothing. If someone else didn't tell me, I'd still be playing by myself, but not in game with my assets.

If no one said before Eli did a video about making a standalone mod, and it's a little more involved than I thought at first. Well a lot more than I thought at first. I don't see it in her video list on youtube though, I hope it's still in a thread, just idk which thread, I've asked for help so much...

Its not technically a mod, but I'm touching up my little recording booth so I can provide my voice work to mods.

 

Also looking for someone to weigh in on this mod proposal here

 

Adding a standalone "Machete Blade" bayonet should be simple enough, but changing the bash animation to a regular sword attack while it's equipped, I have no idea.
