Deleting workshopmenu.swf from data\interface folder worked for me so far.

thanks. I had the same problem but I do not have workshopmenu.swf in this folder. instead of that I found Workshop.swf file there. Anyway, deleting this file fixed the problem

I've explained this several times but here I go again.

1.3-1.4 updated the workshop with stuff like settler assignment info and the new little Plus sign that shows what is mod added. this means that any mod that had added an edited version of the workshop menu (Workshop.swf) will cause a CTD because the old menu is not compatible with the new update.

the workshop.swf lives in Data/interface

Mods that at edit this file will need to be updated. You can also just delete the workshop.swf and the game will use the vanilla one stopping the CTD.

And I can only again point to this guide. A modded Workshop.swf (or other interface mods) as a probable cause for CTD issues has been in there for quite some time

Yeah I went back and re-read your guide after my original post, but to be honest it still didn't occur to me (at least initially) that the Workshop.swf was the problem. Shame on me really for not following step by step from the beginning. Guess I just got a little to comfortable.

After several tests and reading some posts in Homemaker's thread that's when I realized it was the problem.

Isn't that what my 2nd post says to do? Just kidding. Not sure if others would be like me but I just assumed it wouldn't be the same issues that were causing the CTDs in 1.3. Anyway you are correct that it fixed the problem.

You did and I was just repeating what I've been telling people since the day one patch to 1.3. and it's the same issue in 1.4 because Beth changed the same menu as 1.3.

I don't mind repeating myself or helping people when they have issues but it is a little disheartening that people don't seem to understand that they accept a certain amount of risk and responsibility for your game when they choose to install mods before the game is fully patched. Dev Updates will break mods! Core changes to the game will do the same and you may loose progress!

I've broke many games more times then I can even express! :wallbash: I understand that it is my fault about 90% of the time and don't run off to scream at Beth or some random Mod author because "There mod was the last one I installed! It must be broken and all there fault!"

sorry that was a rant. :woot:

Rant away my friend. Rant away. You have earned the right to do so.

Seriously I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I say thank you for all the help you have given. It is greatly appreciated.
